Good morning Folks :D

I hope for the best of a day for You

We're starting to get that nice cooler weather here. It was perfect for a long walk with dog this morning. We went 3 miles but 4.8km sounds better. Many packages have been delivered over the last few days and a few more are out for delivery today. I really need to start opening them. Yesterday I opened two. One was another purple Luna. The other was a couple spare boards for the Luna's. ;)
Yes, september is a nice month here too. Much cooler nights and early mornings but still nice and warm in the day :tumble:

When you say Luna chips do you just mean the mosfets already available for other stuff or is it a designated Luna board. I ask as I managed to put out the LED's on one of mine when wet n dry sanding. Functions perfectly otherwise but would be nice to have a back up chip

I didn't think so ... but had to ask. ;)
Just looked those Sony's up ... very nice. Enjoy!!! :D

The UL-80-JX board can be purchased direct from asMODus. AsMODus does not list them on their web site and I had to jump through some hoops to get them. When I called asMODus with questions about the chip and talked to one of their techs I asked about it. That's when I found out the Luna chip is sealed. They were reluctant to sell them to me until I gave them my background. I guess they need to be confident in who can actually replace the board before selling them. I would too. One mistake and poof goes the board ... or much worse.

Wiring for the UL-80-JX chipset...

ETA: I obtained that diagram from an experienced modder I know.

@Charlie...

Here is the PDF for the STM32F030F4 chip on the Luna board.

Note: Web sites list the Luna thermal protection at 85 degrees, which is correct, in Celsius. So thermal protection actually kicks in at 185° Fahrenheit which also happens to be what the chip is rated at.

Thank you SMT.....downloaded. Looks fairly simple wiring. I'd be confident in doing the job but it's the soldering that always stops me. Because i never do it i'm not practiced enough to feel confident so I never do it.....classic vicious circle right there....JFDI is needed :)

goodbye
@Rob I did see them but i've got the pumper in my cart at the moment on 3fvape but really interested in how this performs. Don't forget that you won't be running many rowdy dual coil setups on this :)

Thanks a lot Charlie. Now I want the Pumper too:hubba::?:o_O:cry::D:danger:

Yeah, these things are awesome. Super light and comfy, loud bass, midrange and treble response with no distortion and NFC for quick pairing. The noise cancelling is incredible. They have Google Assistant support, too. I'd say this and my Cloud Chemist order are the highlights of my weekend so far.

E - Oh wow, and they read your text messages and emails to you when they come in. I can feel myself getting lazier.

I used to repair mainframe computer systems down to the component level. Soldering and I are old hat. Perhaps consider getting yourself a decent Weller iron and practice on some old circuit board. Soldering like anything else takes time to get down pat. I'm sure you can do it.

I also have some dna-75 boards/screens on order. MikePetro in the 9 months to go thread recently posted some very detailed instructions for DIY'ing your own mods using the DNA-75. He's built many for himself and his wife. I've been looking at enclosures and all the other needed parts and will be placing an order soon-ish. I think it's a good option going forward. For me it's also a good idea to have spare DNA-75 boards/screens on hand for if/when any of my DNA mods bite the bullet. I mean they are electronic and it isn't really a matter of if they die. Every regulated mod will die at some point. Just the nature of electronics.

Same thing with the Pico 75's. fasttech sells a replacement board and my last order included a few of those. There is someone here who has replaced a few those for himself and others which was good to know the replacement boards work from FT.

ETA: Here are Mike's instructions for DIY'ing a DNA-75 mod.

It took me almost 2 years but I finally broke a glass tank on my Zeus original that I had put a bubble glass on it. Dropped it on the deck. Bummah. Now I can’t find what I did with the stash of bubble tanks so it’s straight glass for now until I get more enthusiastic about searching The Stash area!!
