If you have a gas stove that also works. Or you can put it in the oven at different temperatures for different colors. I found the colors stay brighter if you dont cool under water. Creme polish after a day adds an interesting effect. I also liked to torch then sand halfway then torch again. Makes a cool striped pattern.John says that our blowtorch doesn't work. There is a guy on the SXMini Brotherhood FB page who has been electroplating all of his stainless tanks (the Aromamizer Plus was one) in gold, and they look fabulous. Really! The problem is that it would cost close to $1000 to get all of the equipment to do a professional looking job. That ruined my day too. I plan to check around and see if any local jewelry makers would be willing to try gold electroplating a tank for a reasonable price.
When I still used kanthal I used them and was happy with it. The only wires I didn't like were from GeekVape. Kbee is supposed to have good Ni80 wire.
I just remembered I have used Ni80/kanthal clapton from Lightning Vapes and it performed well and was easy to wind.
I have only used Kanthal, and SS wires.
I like the SS better, but have many spools of Kanthal.
Gonna get some more SS when I order something else.

One more photo. I looked hard and found this. The subject of torching mods came up. Here are 2 that I did.
I've had good luck with it in the past. Most recently I've been getting round wire from Kbee vapes. Great wire and it pays off to check their Ebay store. Over the weekend I ordered 1000' of 36ga and 250' of 26ga both in SS for less than $25 with shipping.
