I don't know much about lipo batteries so this might be a stupid question. Do you need a different charger for those batteries?
You do need a charger with a LiFePO4 mode that properly terminates charging at 3.6v --- I use both an xtar VP2 which has a physical switch for LiFePO4 mode, and a Miboxer C4 (v3 ... not the C4-12) on which you can set a bay to LiFePO4 via button presses when inserting a cell. There are other chargers with the option for charging LiFePO4 as well, the above are just the two I have used.

Thanks. So it wasn't a stupid question after all. I've been thinking about getting a lipo mod but I'm just not comfortable with it.

My wife is Chinese from Shanghai and likes the Dragonwell green tea. Her family sends her fresh packages every few months. I like the green tea, but it's not the only tea I like. My favorite is herbal tea. I like the Traditional Medicinals Throat Coat. I like its smoothness and Licorice flavor. Also helps sooth the damage that 42 years worth of smoking did to my throat. Having a pot of it now on this cool and rainy Sunday.

Quick question. I noticed some people have different sayings under their avatar forum name other than the normal "Full Member", "Senior Member", "Super Member", etc. How do you get those custom labels?

Some examples....

Well, LiFePO4 and Lipo aren't the same thing --- LiFePO4 is a lithium-iron cell chemistry that is much safer than other lithium cell chemistries. Lipo (or Lipoly) are not a safer chemistry and are typically packaged battery packs with built-in battery management/protections and may be flat packs, rectangular, cylindrical, or some other shape.

I do not have any experience with Lipo mods other than a few non-serviceable internal battery mods (which are typically powered by lipo cells/packs).

I'll take a serious look at those. Thanks.

Believe I was only able to do that by becoming a supporting member. 24.00 yearly if interested, you'll find the link in your profile page.

All this talk of series mods has made me remember a recent acquisition of mine.....the Bully. Does anyone know how this one is wired up? You can run it in single battery or dual configuration and I'd be interested to know if I can play with it like a stacked mech?

Pretty sure that would be a dual parallel (not series) mod.

Bought another Flow and a couple packs of pods from AsMODus, $20 for the kit and $6 fora two pack of pods. I think they’re a really nice little mtl stealth. The pods are lasting me 6-8 refills, or roughly three weeks, but I only use them when I really need a pocket device.

I think that is a parallel mech mod, which I prefer to series. You use those the opposite way of a stacked mech. The amp draw is split on a parallel mod so you can safely build much lower. If you put a pair of 20S in one you would have the combined amp rating of 60A I believe (correct me if I am wrong) I like parallel mods better because you can build as much power as you like into them instead of trying to keep the power under control like a series if that makes any sense. Usually parallel mech mods are quite expensive. I like that one, looks like a Filipino mod.

Thanks Andrew just looking and your spot on..... Dual parallel so still allows for some interesting builds especially with today's batteries. I feel guilty really... I bought it, it came, I unwrapped it and looked at it lovingly for a minute and then it's been in it's box ever since :(

I have had a very shiny year this year... Did anyone say addiction? :D

I think earl grey tastes just like earwax. Please don't ask me about it, it was an unfortunate event, It was mine at least, that's all I'm gonna say.

Twijnings English or Irish Breakfast teas are the bomb. I should drink more TEA instead of Diet pepsi at work! That's a great plan.

PG tips is my favorite though. Kinda hard to get here.

BUT I HAVE AN ANNOUNCMET!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM DONE!!!!!!!!!!

I got the last of my nic and I have 17 liters, more or less, once my last shipment arrives. I think I am SAFE.

I also done did it the Dicodes charger and the second Dani 21700 mod. Even giving away most of my bonus to the husband and the contractor, I could afford it. I was a bit "Skreeech" on it, but I am officially DONE.

I gonna try not to buy too much for a while. I also have to do notes in LESS than an hour, probably I MUST get them done. They support my vaping habit, LOL. You'd think any employer would understand I am FRIED but no. And my performance review is coming up. I bet it's gonna SUCK but that is preemptive like, self fear talking because I HATE being evaluated. Seriously. I mean I am fairly sure I will nor get fired, but like I do HATE them. My sister does too. We both excel, actually but I have a feeling I am going to get dinged on SOME stuff.

Anna

Plus my work is evil they send out anonymous "surveys" to people you work with asking them to grade you on your "performance." Like, randomly. I think that is kind of a sin. If I was ever asked to grade a coworker I would like NOT do it or give them A PLUSES in all areas because OMG how HORRIBLE.

Yes what you say makes exact sense. It's more or less the exact opposite of a series. I'm looking forward to getting back home to see what we can build on it.... Very low ohm with today's batteries :)

Thanks again :)

Just make sure it is actually a parallel and you should be able to pit whatever you want on it. Wouldn't want to fire up a stacked mod with .08 coils on it. Now I am window shopping for parallel mech boxes again. I been wanting to use this on one...

Nobody said addiction!

That is such an ugly and loaded term. There are no studies showing shinyitis to be addictive (nor infectious, nor contagious). In fact, it is not a recognized affliction at all. It is not in the DSM-5. Thus, it's all in your head (that it also may all be in your living room, bedroom, den, garage, car, and perhaps other places, has nothing to do with anything).

So, feel free to put your hands over your ears and sing LA LA LA, while engaging the "buy now" or "submit order" button --- free from guilt ... free from victimhood ... free from a useless retirement nestegg ...
