I tried all those methods a few years back starting with the live traps. Nothing worked. I finally had to hire an exterminator. I have dogs and a cat too so they put the bait traps in spaces they couldn’t get at and I don’t allow the cat in the basement and no one goes in the attic.

The exterminator said that if you see a couple then they’re are A LOT more because they breed so quickly.

I felt really bad about it but I found mouse droppings in my 2nd floor bedroom. They had crawled up through the walls and into the insulation throughout the house. I had been actually taking them to a park down the street but they find their back to a nest up to a mile away somehow.

I had a yearly contract for 2 years. I haven’t seen a mouse or droppings since.

Fortunately they leave as soon as spring comes. This month and next month are my only concerns.

If I could catch them live, I’d dump them by the river. They’d never make it back here with all the predators out there.

LOL Big eaters round your way Letitia? The cover for the BBQ ended up on the car bonnet
The Midwest. Cars rot from the salty winter roads and food is king. Love the food back there and everywhere you go they feed you, especially when you're skinny like me. I need a trip back home now...

Had to deal with mice in an apartment when my daughter was little (micr are common in apartment buildings in NY). Put out some glue traps and tried to hide them from my then 3 year old daughter. The next morning she comes bounding into our bedroom

Little sweetie: “mommy, daddy, we caught 3 babies!!!!”

mom: “er, ok, daddy will take them down to the front door so the mom can come get them “

Little sweetie: “but mom, they all look dead”

So much for that.

AAARRRGGGHHH!!! My FT order was in the NYC USPS facility, now it has departed from the Syracuse NY facility for the destination. Bet you didn't know the shortest distance from New York City to Philadelphia PA goes through Syracuse :-x

I had a NYC JFK arrival go to Jacksonville FL before coming back up the coast to me.

I’ve been shopping, but only for mouse traps. It’s a winter thing, almost always get a couple.

The last couple years though they have been really hard to catch. Because of the dogs, I can only put poison in the crawl space, and that helped but I still have a couple. They’re too small to set off the Victor snap traps - I got the plastic ones because I can’t seem to set the wooden ones.

And of course being an animal lover, I already tried a live catch. I caught a mouse and a half. That was really quite awful. The only thing that got them was sticky traps but that’s unimaginably cruel. And they learn. I have to constantly change what I’m using and where I put it.

I found one that’s a box that electrocutes them, should be here tomorrow.

But if anyone has any ideas please let me know. I’m going crazy trying to clean everything. Ugh, so gross! I’ve only seen poop in the back hall floor so far, but it feels like everything is dirty lol.
I had decent results with one of these Tin Cat traps

I had mice stealing bird seed, so I just put a bunch in the trap and checked them every day. I figured that if they were stuck in there a while, at least they had food. I never had problems with the trap injuring the mice, and it would hold several at a time. I took them to the park for release and figured they might not make it back across the busy road to find their way back to my house if they tried to come back.

Sorry, but I really didn't need to read that. I really want to support the USPS, I believe it should be a standard service of the country and not a for profit private enterprise. However, the powers that be seem to want to destroy it and use its funds to cover for their tax cuts
