goodbye

Shiny's! @Eskie I also have a medical procedure later this morning. My last visit to the dermatologist found a small Squamous cell carcinoma on my upper back. Caught it early, so should be no problem. They have to take a good chunk of skin though

Have had some minor suspects removed before, but getting some stitches with this one. Let you know how it goes later.

Good luck to you! Glad they caught it early. And having stitches on your back is good, because you can’t pick at them. :)

goodbye
Have you seen the new one from limelight mechanics?

It's called the wicket and is a fantastic design. Completely modular with a non soldered arrangement on the board. Contacts are just screwed in via eyes so you can swap out the board really easily. Single 18650, either encoded 60 or evolv 60 and comes in a superb range of colours and materials including their signature walnut. Only pre order just now but will be available around the world in various outlets soon. You can pre-order on their FB groups page for now.

Really clever design on this one. Todd reviews has a good video on it if you're interested.

Oh my gosh Charlie! Those are absolutely stunning. I really need a wealthy benifactor.

    Morning shinies ;)

Good morning shiners! Have a medical procedure today so I won't be around. Probably a good thing as no food or even coffee this morning. Trust me, you don't want me around without coffee anyway.

I hope everything goes well  And if you are anything like me without caffeine in the morning - it's not a pretty sight:shock:

    Ah... Malay probably.

I'm feeling pretty terrible still but I've just started to come out of my aplastic anemia so that's good. I could be home before the weekend according to the doc.....no promises though.

    How's it going with you?
I’m sorry it takes feeling crappy to get well :(. I hope you get to leave this week. No place “sleeps” like home, especially with your better half there to fuss over you.

That’s cruel and unusual punishment!!! Hope it all goes well, and there’s a big cuppa waiting for you right after!

    Morning all!

It is still morning, right? I’ll catch up later. Spent the whole morning working with new embroidery software and uploading fonts.

My FT order that was supposed to come Friday May have made it here. No big deal, mostly drip tips and another Pyro.

Morning Shinies! It must be doctor day today. I have to go in a few hours also. Nothing major just getting the results from some testing i had done a few weeks ago. I'm sort of hoping they DID come back positive, that way we can work on a solution!! I know that probably sounds a bit backwards but I am tired of being in "limbo" Bah, doctors.........:)

Hope everyone has an outstanding day. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you @charlie1465 that you do in fact get to go home.

I really like the looks of this one. Maybe I'll start saving my pennies for a big splurge.

Feeling like merde sucks, but seeing that light get a bit brighter each day certainly helps the journey not be so arduous. Safe travels to the end of the tunnel  ! You’re like the lucky leprechaun, except instead of a pot of gold, you’ve got a pile of shiny packages there!

Thanks for the tip @muth! Good to keep in mind. I got four of the OBS cube x mods on sale recently. Great little mod :)
Yes, I really liked the original Cube but wishing for an external batt. Although, I have to say that even the internal battery at 3000mAh is pretty nice. Hits well on simpler builds. I'll find a darn way to replace the internal battery if I have to, lol.

After disassembling the battery door mechanism I'm not sure if I have confidence in it's longevity. I didn't find it very solid. Definitely an example of Chinesium. There were also other issues I didn't mention. I had to borrow 2 of the screws from the door's backplate because the dedicated ones for the slider would not thread in. They were shorter in length and honestly, I would've needed a microscope to see inside there to figure out what was going on. But for now it works, just not my favorite battery door design.

In case any of you have been wondering (I have). This is from the CDC site:

Q: Am I at risk for novel coronavirus from a package or products shipping from China?

There is still a lot that is unknown about the newly emerged 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) and how it spreads. Two other coronaviruses have emerged previously to cause severe illness in people (MERS and SARS). 2019-nCoV is more genetically related to SARS than MERS, but both are betacoronaviruses with their origins in bats. While we don’t know for sure that this virus will behave the same way as SARS and MERS, we can use the information from both of these earlier coronaviruses to guide us. In general, because of poor survivability of these coronaviruses on surfaces, there is likely very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures. Coronaviruses are generally thought to be spread most often by respiratory droplets. Currently there is no evidence to support transmission of 2019-nCoV associated with imported goods and there have not been any cases of 2019-nCoV in the United States associated with imported goods. Information will be provided on the 2019 Novel Coronavirus website as it becomes available.
