Amazing what a week of solid rain will do.
Took these photos in a stroll around my neighborhood yesterday. Green everywhere where it was crusty and brown. Sydney's water supply up to nearly 80 % from level 3 restrictions. Drought broken in large areas of NSW and QLD including areas that haven't seen rain for 4 years. Fires out nearly everywhere.

Some flooding up and down the coast unfortunately but we'll put up with that.

when did they start changing the names of storms.? derrick was about to hit this wee island but he seems to have been pushed aside in favour of dennis. so two days of amber alerts await.

Maybe Dennis just shouldered Derrick out of the way? Or maybe they had a fight and broke up right before Valentines Day so you ended up with the two separately.

Now all you need is Donna to head into the mix for an interesting threesome.

They only recently started naming winter storms here - tropical storms and hurricanes always got names. Seems to me, they ought to be given names that suit the strength and possible destruction of the storm though.

I’d be nervous if Derrick was on the way. But Dennis? Sounds like a guy who shows up for work on time, does exactly what he’s there to do, no more, no less, then leaves his work area tidy.

I'm out today with oxygen at home where I'll continue with my anti fungicide for 3 weeks. Barring the odd trip back in for transfusions I'm hoping to come off the oxygen to coincide with the end of the course of meds. Fingers crossed that there isn't too much permanent damage from the fungal infection :)
