coil questions
- does anyone know anywhere to get decent alien spools?
- is alien v2 always with KA1 and is it nice to use? got so used to ni80 that i find the idea of ka1 odd for dl rba's..
- when reviews say that to single-coil axial use chunky coils.. do i look at the gage or is it theyre wrapped and layered?
- as such, the thing i've felt comfrtable ordering and dependable to use is wotofo stuff.. i got a quad core spool and plan to get their framedstapleclaptons. sadly can't find alien spools. after porkie saying alien is generally better and praising even the 20dollar/2coils, the 10precoiled aliens by wotofo don't sound that expensive. nonetheless, i am uncertain whether this is what'll make the difference_ whether it would be any different than a tricore clapton.. i.e. if wotofo just made regular claptons wavey and sell them as aliens (or is that all an alien is)
been looking zivipf to these ends and am thinking abt getting something from there, a spool and/or precoiled. if/when i am certain axial will get here this second time around i will be needing something chunky. it is also a chance to try out SS coils. problem with their alien spools is that they lack the option of all SS and they don't offer ni80 aliens. i also don't know which of their fancy named wraps makes for a nice vape and which are cool but unusable (like juggernaughts which i've found to spit like crazy and wouldn't touch them again)
i'm also wondering if all these multi wire thing is pointless and a flat wire will perform the smae..
@TrollDragon you showed us zivipf as i recall.. any favourites/recommendation for someone that don't vape under .2 and doesn't go above 60w (it's blank that got me back to the 50s even), on Gear and elevate i'm always in the 43-7 range..

In my Axials i've settled for 0.5×0.2 Kanthal flat wire (Ange put me on to it...love it). I've tried some exotic coils, but they take to long to heat up. That don't sit well with me.
The above wire produces oodles of flavor and heats up in an instant.

Yeah got some SS flat to...0.68×0.27. Love its nice clean flavor. I use it often especially when TC. Once again the "issue" for me is the ramp up times.
Then again...it might just be a mindset

I don't have a Squeeze 1, but to my knowledge that was a simple unregulated squonk. The S2 is a regulated squonk with W/TC available. The form factor is like a Pico blown up to hold a 21700 battery and a generous squonk bottle. Everything works well on it, and you can use Arctic Fox on it if your want to fine tune TC on it. Overall, a very nice regulated squonk for what are now great prices.

Well eventually i've solved the damn spit back problem on the Aromamizer lite. I love it but it is prone to that...mine at least.
It mostly behaves, but when least expected it sends me a stinger straight into the sweet spot.
Anyway I cut myself a circle of #250 ss mesh (from my mesh coil days...wild days those
), pushed some slightly bigger holes in it, and inserted it on the top of the chimney. That affected the air flow, but I just opened it all the way and works well.
Most important...NO more stingers. NO way it can find its way through that mesh

You are lucky to have such good leadership. Three governors, in my area, Tennessee, North Carolina and Georgia, are opening the state for certain things including nail salons, massages, hair salons and a few other random things. The order is to practice social distances and the joke is how do you get a haircut and not let them touch you. My theory (and many others) is they are trying to avoid paying unemployment to the lowest wage earning folks. Of course these poor folks will be at them mercy of a public that is practicing safe distancing so it will be up to them to convince folks to come in.

The bed + mattress came to $1600 on Amazon, a fraction of what it would have been in store. That one is a full size, king or queen of course would be more. Really is amazing if my back is out, but I haven’t needed it in a couple years. The flat bed has been plenty good.
I’m no expert but here’s my two cents.
Ignore when told you must use a certain type of coil in a certain atty. you only need to pay attention if they give an approximate size. Only so big or so small a coil will work in an atty.
When I started building, I was just as overwhelmed by choice as you are. Fortunately, wire is cheap, so I bought a bunch of different types and sizes. Built them all from large to small ID, different numbers of wraps. Found something I liked and stuck with it because it worked alright in all my atties.
The only stupid thing I did was not to take notes. I can’t remember what I didn’t like, or why I didn’t like it.
I still try something different if the mood takes me. But for me, it wasn’t a big thrill to tinker, I just wanted what works. And I got there. You’ll get this, I promise.
