Let the magnet snap onto the other one first so you know the orientation, nothing worse than gluing a magnet in backwards. Line the magnet up where it's supposed to go, place a few drops of JB Weld on the back of the magnet and slide the battery cover on straight. Put a big rubber band around the mod and leave it there for 24 hours.

Or you can use tweezers to put the magnet back in place on the cover instead, but be aware of the polarity. ;)

Fortunately it’ll only go in one way. Which also makes it very very fiddly. Make sure to get it lined up right before trying to glue it. I put it in first, and just dabbed the glue around the edges where the magnet meets the back.

from Delores post,it sounds enclosed where the magnet goes.so just super glue should work well.either way just a drop first so you don't change the height.
Did it with the JB Weld. I could not face the Super Glue situation again. The magnet gets too squirrely, the glue is sticking to the wrong things, the whole operation is over in seconds and the magnet is not where it is supposed to be. That is sort of how my last attempt went.
This worked great. Mixed with a toothpick, applied with a toothpick and had time to adjust the magnet in the right place

I think this might have been where I failed last time. I got it done with the JB weld. YAY. Just going to leave it apart (the cover) let it dry for 24 hours.
And I fixed both of them!

I forgot those magnets have a shoulder on them, makes it impossible to put them in backwards. :) I probably should have actually looked before suggesting my method. ;)

Excellent! I dropped one of my squonkers a while back and there is now a side panel magnet on the carpet somewhere, under the dining room table amongst other clutter. I'll need to drag a screwdriver around to see if I can find it and do a fix as well. :)

It's easier if you go back to your high school literature, and study up on your Lewis Carroll::)

Very good....that post makes me laugh and marvel every time I go back and read it. You have to have lived in multiple countries and have a real literary bent to so artfully mix and mismatch idioms and syntax. Even the simplest ones are fun to read!
