The last 6 months of finally trying and learning the best builds for mech mods, has given me a whole new perspective on what I now consider a 'safe' mod. And I've absolutely loved learning what builds I prefer, plus I've enjoyed the extra ohm's law knowledge, and brushing up on my battery safety.
I was really hesitant/cautious my first few builds with a mech - which was good, as it ensured I had double checked everything at least twice if not three times
But now, I understand so much more about how mods actually work - and what can go wrong, and why it can go wrong. I now feel much safer with a mech mod, that only relys on ME, than a regulated mod/unregulated protected mod - that relys on a chip behaving as it should.
Discovered today, that the Gear RTA in gunmetal is the exact same shade of gunmetal chrome on my Colossal
As for the RTA?
I frickin LOVE it. The flavour is incredible. Because it's got such a short chimney, it's very RDA like. Apart from the lack of a bf pin
Airflow wide open is perfect with my 6mm bore tootlepuffing DT. My first wick gurgled like crazy - which with a fused clapton sounded hilarious So I remembered it was actually an RTA not an RDA and stuck more cotton in. No more gurgles, just flavourful dense vapour

That is absolutely beautiful Ange. I love my Gear also. Like you said, it's a flavor bomb, and just makes the smoothest, creamiest, most flavorful vape that a vaper could ask for. It's dead simple to build too. Congrats on your new little flavor banger.

I quit a 36yr heavy cig addiction on Jan 21st of this year with the help of a SMOK Trinity Alpha (bought for me by my son) I love vaping now but love shopping for new devices more...Yes a pod vaper, yes a SMOK fan (not gonna appologize for it).
In just 6 months my collection is growing even too the point I bought my 1st Voopoo device today the Drag X.
I am still saving money each month but am now hiding purchaces from the wife.
I am being jovial about this as buying these things is great fun, I've added a pic of my collection thus far.
P's the 2 Mag Grips have never been used.

Welcome to Shinyville Shrike. You've definitely come to the right place to indulge in your buying pleasures. I quit smoking Sept 27, 2018 after 42 years of smoking, and fell in love with vaping immediately also. I love buying the devices too. I also just got the Drag X, and am loving it. It hasn't taken me long to build up quite the collection myself, and I see no end in sight. As my avatar location says, I am searching for vape Nirvana, and most likely always will be. Vape on sir!

The revenue I was talking about is from the vapers returning to smoking - tax on cigs.
I phoned my local member today who is a gov front bencher and the only pro vape conservative in federal parliament. He told me that this law is passed/set in stone. It's "up for review" in 12 months time but who knows what that means.
Also all the NZ retailers have now stopped taking Aus orders for nic. When retailers stop accepting money from customers you know the bell has rung.
Anyway I think I've said enough on this topic for now in this thread so thanks everyone for support and kind words.

Wow great collection! I eventually want to get into box mods but as for RBA's my eyesight is awfull and my hands shake due to PTSD but buying coils is not a big deal especially as the vape shops have re-opened here. Thanks for the heads up on the Drag X mine gets here tomorrow and I cant wait! Then will be the SMOK RPM160 and SMOK SCAR P-5 those look awesome.

Talking today with my friend the local vape shop owner we agreed that in Spain we just in a holding pattern waiting for the other shoe to drop.
In my opinion we will get taxed on nicotine,not really viable to tax electronics (mods),accessories (attys,coils,cotton,etc) or even aromas and base (which also have several other uses besides vaping).
Government will come up with a new law to tax the hell out of us when buying nicotine...
Hope the situation changes and maybe the higher ups can see that all that this does is hurt their citizens.
I got this in the mail yesterday from my contest winning. They sent it DHL and it got from Hong Kong to Florida in a couple days. I know that a lot of people have had problems with there mods having defects like in the craftsmanship and also the name spelled wrong which I do believe mine has been modified because it has a gray elongated rectangle with Centaurus written in it rather than Centaurus with an a at the end.. but honestly this things gorgeous. I wouldn't even be mad about it if I had paid for it. The abalone is so pretty and I can see little natural pitting marks that would actually occur in abalone which just like with stabilized wood having a little pitting makes me happy because it shows that it's real abalone either that or they did one hell of a copy.

That is one beautiful mod, as well as the whole setup! I've never been a fan of the rainbow finish but it's meant for this mod, while that drip tip looks like a perfect match. Congratulations!
