What does PIF stand for?

Pay it Forward. Things that a person will send to another entirely free.

With the understanding that the person receiving the gift will, at some time of their choosing, offer a free gift to someone else in need.

Beautiful concept. We used to have a very active PIF subforum back in the day, but, human nature being what it is... Oh, well. It was wonderful when it lasted.

I never wanted to make my own coils... I was a carto/clearo person for a very long time. Still am, come to think of it. I love those blister packs. The best compromise was my first Kanger mini--premade coils and an RBA coil. I still like it. Great tank. :D

But I couldn't resist forever. Kayfuns (clones), Lemo, Taifun, Hurricane, Erlkonigin. My favorite vape was the Kayfun 4, ideal draw, easy build, but not necessarily user-friendly. Just a bit over engineered for my taste. ;)

It's no wonder you were a sjmy Doggy RTA fan - slightly less parts to it ;)

this pic reminds me of the Taifun days and the bag of o-rings one needed to keep on hand. Always had a pic like the above (only for a Taifun). You never had the right one and always had to buy more. and then the horror when I thought I had thrown out my bag of o-rings in all sizes.

I remember it. I also remember packing up a box of juice a time or two to send off when someone had a house fire or something

And most sites sold those o-rings only in multiples of 50 or more.

You guys are the bestest  I did this and it might work but how do I know what to buy next time? Does it actually specify which way they are wrapped?

    They are, aren't they?

Can't help, other than this--this is all I know! Left-hand coil vs right-hand coil! :D

I believe there's still a good amount of pifing going on here. I have received and given many items here at ecf. Wonderful community.

Oh yes. But it's between members--not in the subforum, right? We've been doing this quietly via PMs forever.

Oh, you're too kind! Really. Hold that thought for a while longer?

I already have a bunch of RTAs that are perfectly fine but sit in a drawer because I have no patience to deal with them because I don't want to trap tiny coils legs under tiny screws anymore. I love my doggy's and my Fresia and such, but they are all fiddly. Maybe I'm getting old or lazy or both.

If Ares 2/Berserker 2/new Hastur turn out not to be what I hope they will be, I may take you up on your offer. :)
No rush, I have several unopened, picked up on a crazy sale. I like the vape, but too small capacity for me.

    Ahem ;), you mean anticlockwise?

This picture was created here I don't remember by whom and how many years ago, so don't blame me.

It might have been Roxy, come to think of it. She was trying to teach us how to wind coils for our Erlkonigins. Or maybe it was someone else...

I have three 4s because, ever so mysteriously, they are the cheapest authentics around these days. Still haven't built it because I haven't mustered up the courage to disassemble one for preliminary cleaning.

You don't have to disassemble it for cleaning, Zazie! I never did. It comes all put together, just unscrew the deck, the top, DT, etc., then give it a nice warm bath (I like Dawn), and you're ready to install your coil and wick. Wicking is easy. The difficult part is the filling and refilling of that monster--all the screwing of different rings (airflow, juice) clockwise, counterclockwise, and then again in reversed order. I could never remember that part and had to watch Phil's or Ruby's video almost every single time I had to refill or rebuild.
