My son has admitted to me that he and his friend have been there multiple times and successfully bought stuff without being carded, but is afraid to get his friend in trouble. What do I do? What would you do?

I agree with @Opinionated about talking to management. It's a difficult one because teenagers will be teenagers and I'd certainly prefer mine to vape rather than start smoking. That's probably the view the shop takes and that's why they turn a blind eye.

A friendly chat should stop them selling to your son and his friends specifically but won't the boys just find another way to source what they're after??

Quickie hi and to comment a bit and im outie 5000.

On my way to the bank,need to get a 10k loan for this:

Leaving in 15 minutes so someone better talk me out of it or else i'll be vaping luxuriously out of a cardboard box

On a more serious note sunday was an interesting day,dear pops in all his wisdom decided at 3 am to remove his bladder catheter.

I hear wincing,grunts and whatnot so i get up and yay!! 4 hours in the emergency room.
Everything is ok but now they can't get the damn thing in again so he already missed yesterdays radiotherapy...hoping they can get it in today.

As if i didn't have enough to deal with...i mean come on,give me a bloody break.

Oh well,apart from that not much to say,tired,dinsgruntled and in dire need of a weekend off.

Wishing for a lottery win,nothing big i'm not greedy,just enough to be able to hire a nurse for a week and to rent a small camper van.

I would just find a nice secluded area,have enough food,reading material, music and booze for a week and i'm golden.

I want to be this guy,at least just for a week

Well anyway, picking up pops for dialysis in 20,then cook him lunch, small siesta for him then off to see if they can get that catheter in,if not he is screwed and i don't know how they going to continue with the radiotherapy.

Oh well,miss you guys and hanging out everyday here at ECF.

I have no idea what kind of a human I'll be tommorow, my last back surgery I woke up unable to feel my legs and did my fair share of freaking out over that..

I think I'm emotionally prepared, maybe lol, for any eventuality so hopefully no matter what I'll take it in stride without being vocal... so I should be able to carry on normal, albeit drugged up, conversation.. I may tell you how cute the anesthesiologist is though.. haha

However; I may also clutch my socks like a life preserver.. lol

Normally i would get the police involved or whoever you would need to contact so they can look into it and give them a hefty fine.

But with what is going on in the world these days i think you could just go and visit them and drop the law (verbally).

Depending on their response and attitude you can just leave it as is or then go and report them,it all depends on what attitude you get from them when you are telling them how it is.

Part of the vaping problem is this,people not carding hence minors vaping when they shouldn't.

I'd wait til the anger passes then think about it carefully. It's probably hard now but perspective is important. Whatever you do try not to make it personal and don't do anything you'd regret.
If I was in your shoes I'd take the business owner aside and give him a warning. Make it final. Tell him you know what's been going on and you're watching him. Hopefully that's enough. Good luck Rob.
Teenage boys are always pushing boundaries and that will never change. Your young fella has been man enough to tell you the truth. Kudos for that.

Thank you to everyone for your replies. I have had a night to sleep on it. I have decided to go talk to the manager today. Wish me luck.....for both me and him. I am not happy, but calmed down enough to have a rational conversation. I hope for his sake that he doesn't try to BS me or become unreasonable.

Nicotine can turn into a lifelong addiction. If he's just vaping occasionally to get a buzz, quitting may not be too hard. When vaping products become difficult to get, I think many people will go to regular cigarettes. If that happens, it will be much harder to quit. I have been struggling with it for.years. As for the shop, I would go there and talk to the manager.

Thanks Skunk. I appreciate your advice very much. Matthew and I are best friends and he tells me everything, for the very reason you suggested. I treat him like a friend and we spend a lot of time together. I have expressed my concerns to him as a parent and friend would. Hopefully he gets it. At least he's not smoking cigarettes.

Now on the other hand the vape shop owner is not my son or friend, and that will be a much bigger challenge for me. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and give him a chance to be the good guy, but if he tries to BS me or becomes unreasonable, I will be on the phone with the police in an effort to destroy his business.
