You lot... Wit da mad animal love.... LOL, Tucson has actually caused me to hate most of them... Besides our WILD BUNNIES. The birds are usually okay, although a HUGE falcon of some type (swear to god 10 ft wingspan) did come and lurk on our porch, in hopes of snatching the little dog. He moved with great alacrity to his dog house, and didn't come out for hours.
I always wondered how he survived in the desert for TWO YEARS, but he did. That sucker's crafty.
IDK, I was never harmed by wildlife living in Sydney, but man, living here the past year, with the underside of the house open, I got bit by recluses twice (once on my FACE) as well as encountering a few too many scorpions for my taste, and rattlesnakes. I suppose I could try to cultivate a love for them in the hopes of them not trying to KILL me all the time, only I don't think that I, St. Francis-like, would be able to allow them all to fly to hand, or congregate at my feet-- I'd be more like "SNAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Doesn't sound too appealing. I mean, sure in Sydney we had the odd funnel web spider catch air under its legs (they can do that) and submerge in our pool, but they don't move that fast when engaged in that activity. It was unpleasant if you only NOTICED after getting in it but a) I don't swim that much and b) you could usually exit before the spider.
