I agree with Delores. I have heavyweight mods and tanks but when I want to dash out I grab a pod. Up until now I like the voopoo drag S and have a few. I also got some Thelema's and some Freemax Autpods that I am waiting to come in the mail.

Does the Freemax Autopod have an RBA?

Pods have come a long way since the closed system tiny battery ones in the early days.

They’re still limited by the internal battery - although I have a 6 year old internal Eleaf that still charges and fires like new, despite having been run over with a lawnmower- but the fact that there are RBAs for many of them is going to extend their usable life span for those who can’t get coils after the ban.
    I

not sure why external batteries became such a sticking point for me because I agree I have a handful of eleaf I stick minis and ego ones that still run strong now years later. I think I just tossed too many non functioning internal battery mods and disliked the whole usb charging thing enough for avoidance. Going forward though there are murmurs of possible issues in being able to buy 18650 single batteries ... It's always going to be something I guess and I might be kicking myself and digging out my internal battery mods.

Sometimes I have a leg that does that too.
I am curious about the wire that you are using. I have seen it before, and I see a lot of people like it. Is it for dl vaping or mtl vaping or both? I am curious, because a while back I almost bought some and decided not to before I researched it... I forgot to research it...lol then I saw yours and remembered it! :)

It can be used for both, what size you get just depends on what wattage you use. Mine is 0.5mm*0.2mm, but I've only seen it online in NZ  At that size, it ramps like 28g or a 30/38 clapton yet has the surface area of 26g. I run it at around 20 watts. And I use it over clapton wire due to laziness. It's easier to clean. With this size flat wire I use, I still get better flavour from 2*32/38 fused clapton wire.

The next step up is 0.8mm*0.2mm. Which probably needs to be run anywhere from 20-35 watts:
Spooled 316L Stainless Steel Wire - (Round and Flat Ribbon) - AVS

You'll see 0.9mm*0.1mm or 0.5mm*0.1mm around the place, but it is near impossible to coil with a thickness so thin. It's like coiling with curling ribbon :w00t:

FT sell a ribbon wire 1.0mm*0.14mm and that is easy to coil. It's a smidge below 0.8mm*0.2mm in terms of wattage:
$2.28 Authentic MKWS 316L Stainless Steel Ribbon Heating Wire - 0.14mm*1.0mm flat size / 30ft (10m) at FastTech - Free Shipping

It lived up to its name :D

I had Luna 'helping' when I stuck the coil in. She played tug a war with a leg, then once I had one screwed in, she stole the Allen key. I left her playing with that, screwed down the other leg, cut them off and fired it up.

For the first time ever, I had a dark coil wrap right in the middle, when I pulsed it. And then it shorted, I unscrewed it and the coil was split in the middle

Coil no. 2 was a breeze. Luna was occupied with her Allen key, so I had it built and wicked within 5 minutes.

Now I'm enjoying my Ninja Mixx

Same here! My knowledge of "pods" ended in 2016 when pod to me = self contained nonrefillable internal battery throw aways. I really started to look around because of the fast approaching vape mail ban and discontinued CLR coils. I was very surprised to see RBAs for pod devices. Although I'm not too crazy about the whole plastic pod/ tank or units with internal batteries there were systems to me that were more versatile for better longevity. RBAs and external battery was a big deal for me in deciding which to buy along with ease of use and cross compatibility to something I already have and could easily obtain more of if/when needed. OH and it had to be small-ish and pretty! :D

    Haha! Pretty mod is important!
Right! When I thought of pod I thought Of the throw away ones back in 2013 that I started on! New vapers have so many better choices now to choose from in my opinion. I love the rba option. I really want one now! Lol

Reminds me of the picture my kiddo sent me of “our” cat when she picked her up from surgery. She looks like a demented squirrel. Second is what she looks like NOT high as a kite

Nope, madder than a wet hornet. She made that clear by leaving some “presents” on both bed pillows, and my daughters work scrubs.

I gave up on the Abyss today and ordered an Innokin Sensis. I already have coils for that. As appealing as the Abyss looks, I have BBs, SBSs and the dotaios. I don’t see how it would fill a new need. (I’m still drooling over it anyway). If somehow by some *POOF* of magic the vape mail ban falls through, I’ll definitely reconsider.

@Pigs ... be a dear, and tell me what that mod DP posted on the “what is it” thread is when someone figures it out. It looks so freaking familiar , but it’s caught in the cobwebs of my brain. I’ll probably forget to go back and look.

Yea, after you saying she was angry...I see it now! She actually looks pretty upset!

    Morning shinies ;)

Anyone know what I'm doing that causes a curved/kinky leg in my coils? It vapes perfectly fine, but it annoys me

View attachment 930749 View attachment 930751
    My technique:
using a coilmaster winder, I do 2 or 3 extra wraps. I stretch out the coil a bit, then squish it back into place. Unhook the held leg and pull 1 or 2 wraps off to straighten it, pull 1/2 or 1 wrap off the other side.

Then I pull each leg to tighten up the wraps, stick it in the deck, and done - with a kinky leg :sneaky:
I get the same too sometimes. It happens when you install the coil. I would suggest you install and tighten one side of the coil and tighten down with the rod still on then when you do the other side put it in place then pull it tight before screwing it down....hope that helps :)
