Good afternoon shiny ones

@Katya if she would have used unsafe super glue, what do you think @ShowMeTwice?:w00t:
Good afternoon to you too!!! It's nearly my bedtime, maybe. :D

If @Katya would have used unsafe superglue she may have grown an extra wing or two. ;)

Still one of my favorites and just listened to it this evening. :D
And the great Roger Dean doing cover art. No wonder LPs were always more exciting than CD. Don't even mention mp3!!!

I'm not going to tell you what to get, as I haven't even tried a dSLR or mirrorless yet - I'm still firmly in the bridge camera/training wheels category.

But three sites that helped me decide between the gazillion camera models out there are:
Nikon D5300 vs Nikon D7100 Detailed Comparison
For a quick look at the differences between various models, this site is fantastic. I've linked to a comparison between @DeloresRose's Nikon on the left, and @charlie1465's on the right.

I found the reviews on this site were great, and the format meant you could compare cameras easily by looking at the different reviews.

Canon SX40 HS Review
Another good review site, I linked it to my wee camera [/QUOTE

Photography is a great hobby. I got hooked a long time ago, and got into birds mostly when I went digital around 2006. I remember when the sx50 came out and most liked the old sx40 better, I always wanted to pick one up as a take everywhere camera. I just lug a backpack and an old 7d2 around whenever I go out. I only go early as I take care of my wife when she is up. :)

My first vape mail in ages tracked to a sorting facility in Sydney yesterday only 4 days after shipping from China. The SXK Rave Mini 67 squonker (clone)

Can't believe how fast that was. Based on the shipping times at checkout I expected about 3 - 4 weeks so this is a big surprise. Hopefully it'll arrive at home in the next 2 or 3 days. No dancing bananas or disco sunglasses guy til it drops in the mail box. I'm too excited.

ahhh...one of my brothers fav albums to jam to. I bet I heard this daily in 1974ish. Is this the album that has Roundabout on it? My brother did an excellent job of keeping up with the drummer from Yes. King Crimson and Emerson Lake and Palmer were some more favs from the progressive rock genre

I loved Emerson, Lake and Palmer. I never played any though.
Everyone my family played something, we had very diverse tastes for listening, but we would play a lot of folksy stuff. Dylan, Young, Kristofferson. By myself, I liked to try to learn Paul Simon. That man sure could pick. In electric I liked to play the Stones and the old Rod Stewart stuff - everyone else wanted to play Led Zeppelin and I could do I did, but I still dislike it to this day because I always HAD to if I wanted to jam with anyone lol.

I have been missing playing so much since my shoulder started acting up, so I pulled out the fiddle and have been trying to relearn that. I forgot everything I ever knew, but it’s coming back to me.

I LOVE Neil Young, his soul-reaching music touched me and my life when I was 12. Cowgirl in the Sand and Cinnamon Girl, Down by the River. All old favs. I only saw him once. One of the California Jams or some such music festival and of course, not only due to age but also due to the fact that I was inebriated on one thing or another, the memory is dim.

I'm convinced we all grew up with the best music!!!

I still have all my LPs from the 70's and a decent record player that sees regular use. Several LPs have been replaced, wore them right out.

MP3's, ewww. :nah: I'll take FLACs instead. :D

Roundabout is on the LP Fragile released on November 12, 1971. It's one of my favorite Roger Dean album covers. It was their 1st album to feature Rick Wakeman.
Fragile (SW) [ALAC].jpg

Your brother had excellent taste in drummers. Bill Bruford was the drummer on Fragile. I still love prog rock, from the old to some of the newer bands. The band, actually supergroup, Transatlantic is one of my current favs.

@TrollDragon you'll like their drummer, DT's Mike Portnoy. ;)

I loved Emerson, Lake and Palmer. I never played any though.

Your shoulder, oh no! :( I love ELP. And yes, Dylan, Neil Young and Kris Kristofferson! Paul Simon too.

Fiddle? Awesome! :)

I saw Neil Young several times. Last time I saw him was several years back when he was touring solo. He always puts on a great show.

Another favorite... From Rock Am Ring, Nürnberg, Germany 2002. I have the whole concert on DVD. It's also up on YouTube.

The great Bill Bruford - played drums in Yes and King Crimson. My favourite drummer of all time along with Bonham, Charlie Watts and Willie Green. Four very different styles but Bruford the most technical of the bunch - more chops than a butcher's shop as the saying goes. Hats off to your brother!

Led Zeppelin....my favourite band as a teenager

The golden age of rock - no doubt. There'll never be another time like it. My 15 yo son and his friends all listen to 60s and 70s music non stop.
There are plenty of downsides to music streaming (spotify) but the huge upside is the ready availability of all genres and all eras. It says a lot that today's teenagers have a choice of listening to whatever they want and they choose the same bands we grew up with and love.
