My takeaway? Disturbing lack of QC to have that variation between mods, plus pretty darn cruddy construction. I’ll only put a battery in mine if I go to use it. The discussion makes me feel like it can’t be trusted.
The mod did just come out right? I wonder if that has something to do with it. Maybe they rushed the quality control a bit on the first batch?

It came out and almost immediately got a v2. I think mine is v1 since I have no vent holes. Strikes me as too many problems, so we’ll slip in v2 and not say anything. There’s possibly issues I’m not aware of

Howdy, Shinies! Any thoughts/comments/suggestions on Charlie's singed (?) wick?
It looks like one tail is wicking better than the other. So there's a darker pool of stuff on the right tail. Just guessing (as usual)

Well I will be avoiding that mod for sure. It is interesting that I happened to read a couple reviews, and I don't think it mentioned any issues. Of course, who knows how biased the reviewers might have been.

@charlie1465 your Killer Kustard clone recipe is a winner. It's become my adv. Time to mix up another 100ml. Big thanks!
Well to be fair it came from all the flavours and I just tweeked it a bit mainly with subs.

Does that mean the blandness drought finally got broken? I'm bloody glad to see that

I used your calligraphy style handwritten notes of that recipe to stick it in ELR format, if anyone else here wants it:

It wasn't a battle at all, not even close. One person here made a really stooopid comment. One that should never have been made. Nervy, very nervy. Obviously didn't like the replies they got from myself and another. But as in real life stooopid comments do, and will, get challenged.
Did I make a stupid comment?

That's unheard-of :D

SMT, Charlie, myself, Mel, Nailz and Zazie had a rolling energetic discussion about the different versions of the Paramour and the screen orientation/resulting up down button placement.

All sorts of youtube links, photos, hand and/or computer drawn arrows were used to try and explain.
We kind of got there in the end. Seems like we've found at least 3 different versions of the Paramour with slight variations.
Anyway it was good natured, sometimes a bit silly and no blood was spilled.

Somebody else seemed to have misunderstood the rowdiness for ill feeling but that was never clarified.
I'm sure we're all friends
If we can't have an argumentative discussion without resorting to shenanigans then there's something wrong and childish about it.

Oops there I go again I've just chucked all my toys out of the pram :D

I've sorted it I think....coils a bit higher and then the wicks come down slightly mirroring the profile of the top cap...oh and I'm not "stuffin the muffin" as Ange suggested  I get severe leak paranoia sometimes

I haven't read any reviews but I confess that I couldn't resist watching Jay's YouTube rant. That was highly entertaining.

I'm staying well away lest he upset my delicate sensibilities

I wholeheartedly support your decision to stay well away from that video.

Ok.
Everyone who has an abyss now, how are you liking them after some use.

Thinking i may suck it up and try to get one of batch 2 that should hit soon.

With the ban pending this could be it.

Thinking black with the ether and sbs kit......

Thoughts

I'm loving my Abyss. Suits my RDL vape well.
The SS and CNC machined aluminium body feels and looks great. The AF is smooth and seems made to go with the Ether bridge. Ether has excellent flavour. No leaks in a week so far with the Ether but you'll be cleaning condensation at each battery change. Not as bad as a BB with most bridges.

My main gripe with the Abyss is the machining of the 18650 battery plate/top piece. In my first (returned) lemon version it was very rough. The replacement unit I have now it's fine but other people have mentioned machining marks. Some have noticed scraping when they remove it. Mine doesn't.

The chipset works well so far in wattage mode. Battery meter may be a little optimistic.

I don't have the sbs kit so can't comment on that.
I highly recommend you get the replacement glass pack . The Abyss tank only comes with one.

It's heavy but I like that.

For me it was worth the US $130

Good luck @Hightech Redneck
