I love you Charlie and you are the best! It is never cool to pummel and pounce on another human being, like wild boar on prey. We are supposed to be a more evolved species than that.

Maybe coyotes, or wolves would be a better choice of predator. Wild boar are omnivorous... things like plants, roots, and fruits make up their diet.

Did you see my post about the limited edition velvet brown Z80?
Yes I tried to get two but Innokin don't post to France....I mentioned it in an earlier post.
Good news though....I'm a member of a business only wholesale vape site here in France and I just picked up a white, ash grey and 50 coils for just shy of 121€.....pretty pleased. The Z80'S were only 35 each.....win, win and should be here Monday :)

Ever had a run in with a wild boar @Skeebo ? They are omnivorous but are also clever and savage predators when they need to be.
Many a young lamb gets eaten by feral pigs. I've seen it first hand.

I thought my yard was challenging... at least I don’t have boars!
Oh! But the rabbits have found a way in. Must be a tunnel, because the only gap is under the gate and even a small rabbit couldn’t manage. I was positively thrilled to find G barking furiously at the window, and Mr. Cottontail staring back at her with contempt. Dog vs Bunny is a long standing tradition here, glad that it continues.
That must be really annoying after rabbit proofing....I know they can eat all your new seedlings in a sitting. Nothing we can do here about the boar they're so strong the just rip up the bottom of fences and push their way in. About the only way is electric fence but even that gets breached sometimes...they jump too :)

Feral pigs, while some will contend are the same as wild boar, can be traced back to domesticated animals where as wild boar cannot. Feral pigs are supremely nasty in comparison to their wild counterpart, and yes very opportunistic in their diet.

I think feral pigs should be used above even. It has a more nefarious ring to it.

And meat.... omnivores eat everything ;)

While true, omnivores are not really your stalking predator either.

I mean I am just saying, if we are going to keep it real we should be as authentic as possible.

I would have used rattlesnakes myself. It has a ring to it that makes people shudder and the psychological impact may have lasting effects on others.

One could also use sharks, but in reality if you think about it someone may think "is she talking about a whale shark?"

I'm just trying to be helpful.

Even though most feral pigs in Australia come from escaped domestic stock, they end up looking like the European wild boar. Probably why most people confuse them. Hopefully Charlie's garden visitor is the gentler variety.

I found this:

Feral pigs in Australia descend from domestic swine, but look more similar to Eurasia’s wild boar than their domestic counterparts. They tend to have sparse, coarse hair on lean and muscular frames, well-developed necks and shoulders that taper to short hindquarters. Colouration is predominantly black, rust-coloured or black and white spotted.

If I found a white spotted feral pig I would capture it, nourish it, and love it with all my heart.

Here we have a situation where the wild boar and were crossed with domestic pigs back in the forties for meat. It then became unprofitable so they were just released into the wild....they then crossbred so double trouble. And if you've ever been charged by a boar you would rather have shy wolves I can assure you

Good point, but we are veering off the topic of predatory behavior. If a wild boar is charging you it is cuz it's ....... If something is seeking prey it's because it wants to eat.

Now that I think more into this, Melanesian cannibals would really fit in the situation above.

Awe man, I thought we were having a great conversation on the feeding behaviors of wild animals.

How about a pic of terrapins getting some sun right before being fed some wild caught shrimp?

Hi everyone. Haven't had much to add much lately. Had hands full navigating life here.

Loving the Z80 posts and the photos from @AngeNZ , @Fredman1 , @Javichu and @charlie1465 .
Looks like those special edition Euro versions are going to be serious collector's items. Well done guys!!

Talking gardens, lawns etc recently, here's a photo of our cherry tree. Dedicated to a good friend who's winters are less colourful.

Sounds like you got a really good deal. Sorry you couldn’t get the brown. You can live vicariously through me. I’ll post a picture when I get it.
