Jeez....I knew they were bad but not that bad!!!
They aren't always. As I told Pigs a while back, once, when I was little, my mother got up and went down to the kitchen extra early, thinking coffee was a-brewing, and was very disappointed when she realized it was only a skunk she was smelling.

There are no words. There are lots of skunks in my neck of the woods, and I have smelled the spray of roadkill, or some distant skirmish. But when it gets your dog point blank and your dog comes to you for help... well the first time it happened I didn't even think it was skunk It smelled like some kind of chemical, a poison. I wondered what happened and if poor G was going to go blind, or die. I almost imagine if you took poison and poured it into a fire, that's what this would smell like. I was sick for hours this morning after washing her and she still seems nauseous. Her eyes have stopped watering, and she's not foaming at the mouth anymore.
Glad Geogia is feeling better:) I remember when we were bicycle camping down in Virginia as a teen, took some donuts up to the campground and set up, put the donuts on the picnic table and went for a walk around dusk. We came back to a skunk having at it on the donuts( the place was loaded with them) it was tricky to scare him away just enough to not get sprayed. Yes we did eat the undamaged ones.:)

i doubt she’ll go after another possum. That one just rolled over and played dead. Where’s the fun in that? Worst squeaky toy ever.
Our yard possum has a bad territorial attitude. Poor Monk had a scar on his snout from one “play with me” encounter. They were arch nemesises (nememsii ??? o_O) after a few games of chase. So far, it just hisses at Sam, but he’s not chasing it either.

I used to come home to find a skunk in the outdoor closet where I stored dogfoog, just feasting away. I had the same problem of getting him to leave without agitating him.

Another occasion, I was living in a motorhome which I had parked outside my parents' house in the country. I was awakened by a large thump to the underside of the motorhome followed by yelping and a strong odor of skunk. My dad's dog had chased a skunk right under me, then proceeded to lose it's fight with it. The smell was so strong, that my mom could smell it in the house and accused me of smelling of skunk.

My possums, skunks, and reacoons get along well with my cats...Little Foot and George ignore them and the wild critters ignore the cats. Win win for mom!

Nice. It looks like it'll fit well in the hand....not to big.

It’s a nice size and not too heavy. I tested the dna100c board before the release and had to get the Hyperion.

I grew up with Silvester and Pepé Le Pew and always wondered what a skunk actually smells like. Never had the dubious pleasure of meeting one. Can words do it justice?
One day in the not to distant future, we'll be able to paste smells into our posts like we do images today.
That said, no, words cannot do it justice.

If you need escribe you need to download the beta version update otherwise it won't recognise the board....just in case you didn't know....

    Morning shinies

Still sitting on the fence re the Delro waiting for a price drop on the DNA version. I see that they're doing a spare battery for it though....so that's a plus and implies that they're going to keep making them.

Have a great day everyone

Good morning, Shiners!!! Shinys? Is there a preference?
Getting better by the day, I believe. Gonna be a scorcher today and here to stay for at least 2 weeks. Ugh....but what're ya gonna do. Get my coffee in early on the deck and binge watch a show, and get some needed reading done.
@DeloresRose , how is Georgia today? I hope she's feeling ALL better and eating well.
    Have a great day, Folks!
