I came within a moment of a couple shiny mod orders this week, an Arctic Dolphin Adonis stabwood and a Dovpo Riva dna 250c. Not necessities but both very shiny to me, but the need to replace my Dad's generator popped up and the hoard is pretty large, so I passed. Both good deals from US vendors and I regret it a bit now that shipping is going to skyrocket, if available.

I have the Riva DNA 250c and love it. If you would like the same form factor but less expensive then they are getting ready to release the Riva 200 which won't be DNA but still same body design and should be much cheaper.

That picture does not do them justice. They're quite beautiful:

They also have no mouth parts and die within a week of emerging from the cocoon.

Why not? Worried it'd flap your hair outta place? Ya big girl's blouse.
When I was twelve, my family was living in a damp house in England, and moths were everywhere. They'd get behind the lenses of my glasses and flutter against my eyelids. Sometimes, when I lay my head on my pillow at night, a bunch of them would erupt from it. And thus a horror of moths was born. I got over it, but it was pretty potent for a few years.

Bogong moths are an annual experience here. Long been a delicacy of some of the First Nations Australians, now getting trendy as an entree in some restaurants. Apparently taste nutty, and are very nutritious.

They famously landed on some of the solo performers during the Sydney Olympics.
