I want to thank all you guys for your valuable thoughts and input re my BB scare.

Having digested your posts, thinking about it, and having found no evidence of juice in the screen area or on the board itself or the switch, I think the fault is most likely in the upper firing pad/switch.

I noticed in the days leading up to this that the firing switch had developed an intermittent hair trigger that was only temporarily cured by a couple of rapid clicks of the fire button.

@Truckin Vaper the idea of a Mission switch is a good one.

It isn't case closed for me yet though and I have no plans of ditching the device, or replacing the dna 60 outright.

FWIW, @Skunk! pulls the batteries from his mods at the end of the day in order to prevent unexpected problems.

Truth be told, no one knows when a mod, or battery, will give up the ghost and potentially cause problems.
This gives me nightmares to my built-in battery mods. I should start to store them in a container over night to prevent something happening.

Be well,

I am waiting on OXVA to get some more colors available of the Arbiter 2.

Do you currently have an Arbiter 2? I got one for review and it was pretty good but not the best flavor production. Perhaps I was doing something wrong.

    Be well,
I think it was @Zazie who puts mods in the sink or bath tub overnight.

My preference has always been for mods that can take external batteries.

No, I don't have one. I want one though..

Please disregard my comment about the flavor on the Arbiter 2. I must have been thinking of a different tank. I'm not sure why I didn't keep it in rotation. I will have to get it out and give it another try.

Majorly scary, and I'm glad you got to it in time

I have 8 of the version 1's and flavor production is phenomenal. I heard rumblings that the V2 was even better.

WOW that's a bummer...and a damn shock mate. That's one mod I did not expect that from....then again nothing is infallible.
You had me stripping mine to check that switch. Can't do anything to it really..as it's sealed. I had it in my mind it'll be a mechanical switch and I can polish up the contacts some...but i've been known to be a bit daft sometimes
Anyway what's to do with it now? I think its wise to get a spare board (or two) for future use anyway.

I don't understand why everybody thinks a dna board can't crap out, I mean it's not a motorola or anything.:)
The 'weak' spot is definitely the contact switch. It has to go some or other time. I'm sure there's some out there that have close to a million hits on it :w00t:

Yes! Especially if we want to keep our DNA mods running over the long haul.

I bought spare DNA 75's + screens and DNA 60's + screens for if / when any of my DNA mods die. Bought those just before Evolv stopped selling direct to customers.

It's not difficult to replace a DNA board and/or screen. There are plenty of YT videos covering 'how to' if needed.

Spare DNA boards, all current types, can still be found at a few different online stores.

Vapour Shack in Melbourne carries replacement boards and screens for the DNA 60, DNA 75, DNA 75 color, DNA 250 and DNA 250 color.

I did a little bit of shopping today, shopping soothes me:)
My Brunhilde's are nearly ready to be wicked up again so I thought I'd get myself a couple of nice coils for the special occasion:D
I grabbed a pair of my Lovely Cloud Revolution coils called Game Over Man Triple 30:w00t: they're 30/3+38, nice!
And while I was looking around the website I came across two interesting items so I got a sample of each to try considering all the hype:eek: @ShowMeTwice your good self might be able to give me some info on these two:thumb: Maviton X - The Cotton Man and Maviton X Reserve - The Cotton Man Unfortunately I still wasn't quite soothedo_O so I bought a tasty tank for myself that I've been interested in for while now, oohh it's a Vicious little thing;)
I now have a VA Scylla RTA on the way!! SCYLLA RTA by Vicious Ant and it's only coming from Vic so it shall be nice and quick!

Yes it's part of the same giant East Coast Low pressure system that's caused all the terrible flood damage from Brisbane down to Nowra. That's about 1000km of coastline. We had some scares in my part of Northern Sydney today but nothing compared to the people in Lismore and Ballina (North Coast NSW) who lost everything they own. Entire towns written off. Thousands homeless.
Floods of a speed and size never recorded before.
I saw....terrible. Thank goodness for Sydney's ubiquitous tin roofs too. I hope that none of the tunnels got flooded!!
