Dober Billet Box 2017 by
Doug Dino. African Blackwood drip tip from Molehill Mountain Art, also 2017, hand crafted by Kayte’s husband
Doug. A 1.8 ohm
nautilus BVC coil tucked into a Comfort Bridge beneath black G10 panels. A 50/50 non-flavored 18 mg
vape, calmly and precisely delivered at low wattage, though 60 watts remains available should anyone feel guided to excess.
Shinyitis Recovery Log. Day 2,937. I tried to make Doug shine again. Polished him up, wiped away the fingerprints of years past. Careful cleaning, respectful handling, even a moment of optimism as I retrieved him from the top of a lonely, dusty cupboard. But Doug just doesn’t shine anymore. Maybe he did once, for one brief and glorious moment in vape time when Billet Boxes were mysterious artifacts and not yet museum pieces. Time, however, is undefeated. It marches on, and it does not care how well machined your aluminum body is. Doug remains unmoved.
He doesn’t mind. Doug waits quietly, African Blackwood drip tip held high, watching the parade of new
devices come and go. Screens get bigger, colors get louder, and features multiply like rabbits. Doug still does exactly what he’s always promised. So I’m posting him here among the shiny new things, not because he’s the shiniest, but because he survived shinyitis long enough to become a cautionary tale. Or maybe a support animal. Either way, I’ve had him long enough that he’s almost family. Meet
Doug.
