Man this revenger is a battery hog. I am at half battery status, and have used half a tank of juice at an all powerful 22 watts. LOL, with that said, I'm not vaping it too often because I don't want to get nic overload. I guess this is a mod I want to power off from time to time, as it sits there looking wonderful. I mean.... I'm not gonna take it out of the house, too big.

I suppose to have a mod with a clock, one must accept certain trade offs. LOL.

Yes, the coilmaster should have what you need, even a tiny bit of wick and wire to get you started (though you should get some separately, I used most of my kanthal that came with the kit practicing wrapping coils, but other than that, the coilmaster should have what you need. All tools are serviceable (IMO) other than the scissors. The scissors are the SUCK. I used sewing scissors until I lost them, but the wire snippers are actually the best for snipping wick, wet OR dry....

A watch with a clock does NOT accept any trade offs.
A mod however, does.
Lol.

I started just using my mod to build on until I knew I would actually keep building.

I probably did too... But the husband doesn't like to share his tools.... I kind of liked having my own "kit" that I keep together for building. Of course, I don't usually "use" tools so have little to compare them to but the kit is serviceable for building and it was sort of comforting to me in a way to know that I "had" what I needed. I use my mini ohm's reader all the time but more as a stable base for building, and I have used many of the tools "on" stubborn tanks, perhaps not in the way they were "intended" to be used, but used nonetheless....

I was really overwhelmed when I started building but I found the best way was to just jump in and do it. It was partially motivated by the fear of deeming JUST as I was starting to vape and learn about it, I was all like, "I need to get self sufficient quickly."

I made a few purchasing errors along the way, and I really had a "thrilling" not always in a good way, mind you, type of time. But, for me it was worth it to be able to know that I could in fact, vape through whatever the FDA threw my way.

With that said, I had a fine motor tremor and that made things harder, but I can safely say I have enough wire and wick and RTAs that I like and can use now, and that is a nice feeling. There will always be a place in my heart for some drop in tanks, and I really prefer them for out and about.

But, yes, maybe it is time to start building, we will all help! You can do it, if you want to? Do you? It made my life a lot more interesting as I was learning, and in the end I got there. You'll get lots of help if you merely announce your "desire" I'm quite sure. But I am exceedingly glad I know how to build and how to DIY, because it is also fun (if not immediately, then some place along the road and etc.)

Now, if I could only get my bedding evenly situated in my washing machine so the spin cycle would finish. That's seeming hard at the moment. There are things much harder than building that you probably do.... that you will realize once you start the process..

Damn bedding. LOL.

Anna
I can solve your last problem, lol... buy a front loader washer. Low water use, and you just cram it full.

I have a shop full of jewelry making supplies, so I should be good on tools. Even have rods for making coils I would cut into jump rings.

@NolaMel ... I started out wrapping Protank II coils in the dark ages. Then I got into dripping and found an Igo-w3.

Then I fell back to tobacco ca. 2015 and didn't come back to vaping until about a year ago.

An RDA is a perfect place to start building. Drippers aren't tanks and don't hold much liquid, so they're much more forgiving of rookie wicking mistakes. Wicking a coil in a tank is totally different because your wicks have to hold liquid to prevent leaks but allow liquid to pass to prevent burnt hits. You only have one of those issues with a dripper.

I'm one-handed. I'm a southpaw, but my right hand doesn't serve any purpose other than a being a paddle, and if I can manage to wrap a decent coil anyone can.

Building does have a learning curve, and there's enough stuff out there to satisfy any curiosity.

I am not a fan of front loading washers, and mine is usually okay, it's a HUGE capacity top loader but it doesn't have the "thing" in the middle of it. I turned the matter over to the husband for now.... I can't justify buying a new washer, we replaced ours when we bought the house 4 years ago, and they are the only appliances in my home that are "top of the line."

I think the rest are from the early 80s perhaps? Meaning they actually work. LOL.

Hubs doesn’t share his tools either. 3/4 of the shop is his construction/furniture building stuff. I have a wall of craftsman benches with pegboard backs and top shelves with lights separating my goodies from his. He’s way more likely to take a pair of my wire cutters on needle nose pliers than I am to touch his stuff ( because I know where mine is)

i've not looked back since starting to wind coils. got the coilmaster kit first and that was great. now i don't need it. anything round will do. started with cotton bacon for wicking with an OBS crius II (i think). slipped up a couple of times but every slip taught me something. now use stainless steel (316L 26 AWG) for wire almost exclusively and rayon for wicking.
can't recommend it highly enough. much help around here if you need it. get a reasonably priced RDA or RTA and go for it. all for the price of 10 pre-built tank coils. you'll get there.
I have two gauges of wire. 26awg 316L and 28awg 316L. If I can't get "there" with a single wire at 26, I'll twist 28 together to get some more metal and surface area involved. The way I vape, I have no need for any other wire. I might try some ribbon sometime soon though. Just because.

Many on VU mix that Custard recipe up in large amounts for steeping. Good enough in 2 weeks and just keeps getting better. If you like it for a base mix up 240ml and peel off as needed to add a fruit to for a snv or a change of pace. I was thinking it would be good for a mellow caramel apple or raspberry custard.
That is exactly what I was planning on doing. In fact I may do a little more than that lol. Both of those sound delightful! I am thinking of adding some graham cracker to my order as well. I am placing it tonight! Finally... I am on my last 7.5ml. It's funny, same as with devices when I first found this thread, I come here with 5 ideas and leave with 4 dozen:lol:

You make jewelry though, probably the hardest part for you will be to figure out how some people can talk about making a coil for more than a minute.

Looking forward to order some coils from your online coil shop in about 2 weeks :D

I’m not a fan of the front loader either. Had a wonderful ancient, very basic maytag that worked great. The hubs decided we were going all energy, water conservation and brought home a gas front loader and dryer as a SURPRISE. I have to admit it cleans really well, and has cut our energy usage, but we also have a roof full of solar panels, so who knows. The only bonus is, I can cram a king comforter in there, smash the door shut and it gets clean without the washer walking all over the room

You want your coils set with gemstones or plain ?

If you can make JEWELERY, building coils will be a cakewalk for you.
Futtering with jewellery is a good way to make me throw tools, the fine motor skills involved are way too much for me. Hands shake like a Chihuahua...
