I'm sure he would spray up a custom Hammond box for you without internals, this was when the DNA250 had just landed too so that added to the price, not to mention the custom battery from max amps that had to be ordered, ect, it all adds up.

I am seriously, seriously considering buying it too, @PJReid . The difference between us is that I don't know the price yet, in which case I will probably just seriously, seriously envy you, Pam. LOL. That is one gorgeous mod that I don't "deserve" to own (in the sense that I'd probably do something horrendously marring to it the first week, and then hate myself). But, do let us know how you like it, if you get it. It's lovely.

The Special Edition Gold is $299.99. Still, less than a quality stab wood mod and I love it. The Carbon Fiber and other versions are over $200 if you can find one. I read that this is the best quality mod on the market today. I should probably just set my sights on a Carbon Fiber but I love the shiny gold. I won't buy it right now though. I will own an SXMini at some point but it can wait.

Gold Minikin V2, I dont own any other gold ones I'm afraid.
I gave away two of my four Tesla Steampunks to my son's friends. I kept a brass, still in the sealed box, and the copper, which I use with an OBS Engine Nano as a taste tester for e-juice when I am "cooking."
LOVE the gold Minikin V2 but understand that it and the Prism are fingerprint magnets. I have the soft finish in purple and black, and a shiny, overcoated in bright pink. The Gold Relic aka Gold Grit is on order and should be in this week.

There are others I would consider and a new one that is coming out in March. The G class in on my radar right now though.
The Battlestars are great mods. Really great. Attractive and well made. I gave mine to my son and that was a great deal. He hasn't picked up a stinkie since before Thanksgiving. Funny that his two best friends preferred the Teslas.
Hard to beat Tesla if you like a smallish weighty mod. The Gaia is the same. I like some weight to my mods, I don't drop those.
If I can just add my thoughts. I own one of these and I hope the paint quality is better on the gold version because it's definitely not worth the price tag, mine has all come off the bottom and I baby my mods.
My personal opinion would be to get the Vboy, great mod at a fraction of the price. Yes, it's not got the bling factor but it's more comfortable to hold with practically the same board. I have the blue one..after owning this, I could never justify the price of the G Class again.
I did a lot of reading up on the Yihi mods when they first caught my attention. I remember reading about the paint problem on one model but don't remember which one it was. Nothing bad has been reported on the Gold Edition SXMini G Class but it is only a month on the market. The body of the mod is not painted, it is covered in something. The trim is gold plated, which could potentially chip. The Kevlar, Carbon FIber, and the leather-covered G Class models should be safe unless someone is truly hard on a mod. I am not, though I did murder a Smok Alien a couple of years ago when I dropped in on our flagstone patio.
