You can get the stuff on ebay or Amazon for pennies/foot.

And remember, it doesn't count against your shinyitis points, per @stols001's directive.
I looked before but maybe I was looking for something closer to the size in the video

Haha, you're the type that likes to live life on the edge, don't you? That would only confirm his other criticism of "No self control." He's one of those over-the-top non-smoking activists, where he thinks simply stopping works easily and every time. He's becoming one of those 'get off my lawn' geezers, but I'm a little over 2 years older than he is! LOL
Self control is a luxury I could never afford.

They have SS? I am most definitely getting some.

I so want to do the "at home" pickup and I have a scale and all. I'm going to have to grab some of those prepaid priority mail boxes too.... I HATE going to the post office with every fiber of my being. It's this tiny little shack down by a wash, and while I am impressed with the VOLUME they handle, I am very unimpressed with the staff. They're not EVIL or anything, just overworked and if you go there during "Snowbird season," it is.... Well, the snowbirds aren't SPEEDY. I understand this and also they are retired, although since I'm not working, I should operate at the same speed, but I DON'T YET.

I'm not sure JFCooley trusts his mailman to come to the porch and pick up his stuff, however. He should probably list his shipping time as "Within 3 to 1000 days," for accuracy.

I want to mention to those who are not aware about the newer flat wire for rebuilding.
I got some .3 x .8 flat stainless to try and it is nice. Credit to @Don29palms for bringing it up in a thread although he got nichrome.
I wrapped just like a fused Clapton and it compares to maybe 26g round.
I built a dual 6 wrap and it came out around.13. Because it is flat you get more surface area than round.

Does wire count toward shinyitis, I don't think it does so go buy some.

There is a guy on the FB group associated with DIYORDIE for coiling, etc. who makes this wire. He does some amazing things with wire and says it takes a lot of time and patience. It is hand hammered and polished. He sells coils, maybe the wire too. I don't think I could bring myself to vape using wire that gorgeous. :)

Never ceases to amaze me that women don't control everything...
Men are outnumbered by women, 2 to 1, and women multitask better...
Also, behind every great man is usually a great woman. Telling him what to do every step of the way.

I learned a long time ago that as a husband I can either be right or be happy. Happy rocks

Wait a minute... I must be doing it all wrong! In my house, it's the other way around: Thinks he knows it all, has a narrow mind, will swear he's right (even if you can provide proof in writing), and everything that's mine is disposable, if he doesn't want it himself... And he's utterly convinced that vaping is the Devil and that I'm "selfish" & "stupid" for doing it. :-x

I can't like that post. Sounds like he has fallen victim to the misinformation that is circulating in the media about vaping. Those reports make me so angry. Selfish and stupid my ....

Mine thinks that I can diagnose automobile and computer issues, despite not having any training on either matter, yet thinks I can't figure out what, how, or when to do something unless he tells me. His friends say that I'm the man AND the woman of the house & he'd be lost without me. Hahahaha!

I'm beginning to think that I'm being tested for Sainthood for putting up with his nonsense. :nun:

Here's a vid of the first person I saw flattening his own wire for coils. Lots of hammering and fire. Good stuff. He also does some really detailed wind tunnel studies on how various RDAs and how to properly place coils for maximum effect

I've seen those. I'd love to skip the hammering and just polish it to a nice shine.

Give him a reading list of correct information. And tell him that if he can't educate himself, he's the one that's stupid and selfish.

This is an example of the flat polished wire coils this guy makes - kind of amazing!

glad to share. if you want to get to the steps he takes to actually flatten the wire you'll have to skip forward a bit. he's from Norway and has a very unique style when it comes to his setups and the way he presents them

If you get the Priority Flat Rate boxes (which are free and USPS will send them to you) you don't need a scale. If it fits in the box, it ships for a flat rate that is tied to the box size. I have found that for small items and padded envelopes, I come out better not to use the flat rate boxes, so then you have to weigh and measure but that is no biggie at all.

Oen is awesome. Very good presentation, if a bit long winded. Learned more watching him than any other source. Extremely knowledgable.
