I bought some clapton wire and I can't figure out how to use the steam engine site for clapton wire. Single wire, no problem, but the clapton has me confused.
I found where one puts in the gauges and figures ohms, but my question is, "with clapton wire is the smaller wire (higher #) the core, and the thicker wire (lower #) the wrap?

Although I've found that it's really not necessary for simple Clapton wire. Ain't much difference between a 26awg wire and a 26/32 Clapton. WireWiz It's better for those stapleframedalientiger Rube Goldberg wires that suck battery voltage and drink juice.

The thinner, higher gauge wire is the wrap and the thicker, lower gauge wire forms the core.

Ignore the wrap wire altogether.
Go by what's in the core.
The difference is surprisingly minimal.

I can't say enough good things about the Asmodus Minkin V2. I love, love, love that mod. The TC, for me, is as satisfying as any mod I have used with TC. That said, TC has not been a winner for me. Maybe someday, but not as of today and I have tried. The Minikin V2 color selection is fabulous and every single color is beautiful. The quality is there too. I dropped one of mine on my daughter's asphalt driveway. The battery cover is a bit scuffed, the batteries rolled under a car. I retrieved them, put them back in the mod, and it is still working well several months later. I own four; two purple because of the scuffs on one, shiny hot pink (the overcoated finish that isn't a fingerprint magnet,) and the soft finish black. There is a Gold Grit in my mailbox at home (I am visiting the family in NC for the weekend.) Yes, I know that @Rixsta isn't a fan but I like it. It takes all kinds to make a world.

I love gold tanks on my purple and pink mods and my current favorite is the Asmodus Zesthia. It is a great tank and beautiful too. I also like to top the purple and pink with a rainbow Crius II. Add a coordinating DT and it is as pretty as anything out there.

Personally, due to my slightly OCD personality, I stay away from the Prism Minikin and the other chrome finishes because of fingerprints. If that doesn't bother you, they are stunning mods and win the color contest hands down.

Are you sold yet? The blue is stunning, the bright green is stunning, they are all stunning.

Thanks for the help guys and gals. One spool of wire that I have is a simple 36/24 clapton.
The other 2 spools are 36/24x2 clapton.
The 36/24 worked out exactly what I wanted.
The 36/24x2 I gave up on for now

Those drip tips are so pretty, but I have a feeling I wouldn't like how they felt. Narrow escape. @jdy , glad you found something you liked. Man, I'd be interested in trying a Minikin.... But I think I can be okay for now. I have a blue and silver mod, so I'm glad the round shape doesn't really appeal to me either.

They would really go with the Minikin and some are more of a natural tip shape too BUT they are a VERY pretty penny!!!!

One more question if you don't mind. With the dual core do I need to use less wraps or more wraps?
I can do single wire well but this clapton stuff is drivin' me crazy

I think a majority of mods taste kinda metallic except for the plastic and wood ones but thats just IMO

no matter the taste of the mod, it's hard to beat subtle nuances that you get from a delicious Ultem DT. Hints of honey with lemony notes.

Well, I suppose eating our vape gear will make room for some new purchases.

Just don't use your batteries in the fireplace and I have no idea whether lithium ions are safe for consumption, but if they are, I'm adding my old ones to the vacopalypse bunker.... Don't want to run out of lithium, you know. Vaping is probably not as fun while psychotically depressed, in fact I'm fairly certain I'd want to return to smoking at this point.

AND THE HUSBAND went out and returned with TWO tins of American Spirit tobacco. One tin equals ONE carton. I'm torn between doing nothing, and flushing it down the toilet. I guess we'll see how his mood is as the night progresses..... TWO though. That is just so unnecessary. When commented he said, "I'm still quitting."

LOL. He better be in a good mood. Although I suppose if he's gonna do what he's gonna do? Well, I suppose it's better than him buying more.

I still maintain that is NOT QUITTING. LOL. Kinda makes me want to buy a high end mod like the Minnikin V2. Just saying.
