This guy builds some great coils. I bought a set several months ago and they were fabulous. His workmanship is top notch and I was really surprised by how long they lasted.

thanks, they look nice but no way am I paying 10 or 20 bucks per pair.

I am looking for coils for $1 or less each. The coilogoy kits for example come 42 coils for under $20 but only one of the sets of 6 is ideal for the single coil build ohm range I am shooting for. The others in the kit work fine for dual coils so I am set for dual coiling for a while, just need to find something affordable for all my single coil mech squokers.

Sorry. I thought you meant handmade coils. Yes. They are pricey. I was fortunate enough to get a 50% code and free shipping from one of his videos. I should also mention that I got almost 3 months life out of each one of the coils he built.
I've seen very positive reviews about the Coilology coils but haven't tried them myself.

would it help if you removed a wind or two from the coils that don't work for your single coil setups? You could take a couple of winds off and then space them a bit and see how they end up. Just a thought

The Battlestar Minis are out for delivery this morning, roughly 48 hours after I placed my order at 101.

My tax preparer informs me that my 2017 liability will be four figures less than 2016 and that my 2018 liability will be lower still. Thank God for tax cuts.

But I'm still paying taxes for 2017 because I refuse to pay quarterly. That's my money, dammit. I prospected and found the work. I negotiated with the clients. I provided the contracted services ahead of schedule and usually under budget. I did all the invoicing and bookkeeping. I don't resent the necessary evil of taxes but I do laugh at any notion that less hard-earned food on my table is someone else's idea of a "fair share."

great idea, and shame on me for not thinking of that. I will def have to give this a try on my Athena RDA that is sitting on the side lines waiting to be built.

I actually just put one of the dual coil sets in my Bonza (which has really wide post holes compared to the RDA's I single coil) and without removing any wraps I had to space them out a lot. I probably should have just added a wrap or two to each coil so they wouldn't have to be spaced so much.

I think it's a good idea, @Fozzy71 , just keep experimenting. I sometimes have to do stuff to storebought coils occasionally, depending on what RTA I'm using, but it's a lot easier for me (usually) to just add a wrap, space it a little by tugging on it, or compressing if I want a contact coil. I actually find it easiest to wrap my own, but that totally depends on my fine motor tremor and how it's behaving that day.

yeah, i have some mild tremors as well (depends a lot on caffeine intake and other factors) and can generally coil my own plain/clapton wire from a spool but I have not yet bought any spools of these types of fat/fancy coils so I was worried that I might waste a lot when I try rolling my own off a coil.

Also overpriced...
Hmmm.
I'll be making some coils in the next few days, I'll send you a few if you want.
I use 2×26/38 ni80 I fuse...
Lemme know.

hehe, I don't have the patience or fine motor skills to roll my own claptons or better. That is very kind of you and I certainly wouldn't say no to free coils, but would gladly pay you a little something via paypal to at least cover your shipping costs if you wanted.

Don't worry about it, just PM the address, and I'll send along in the next couple of days.
It's easy for me, as I cheat and use a Daedalus. Lol.

I think I need to go into business...
Those prices are HILARIOUS. I don't care how well made they are, that Is just silly.

Ok, I don't follow picos so no idea
Picos are an odd lot when it comes to pricing...
Usually low, and excepting the mega (26650) And the new 2X700 version, easily had for ~10, sometimes less.
The new versions are 30-40 on average, and are essentially the same damn thing, just a different battery size. I fail to truly grasp it..

That was an excellent deal! You throw Arctic Fox firmware on that Pico and you have DNA quality TC for $20 in a dual battery beater mod. Also real easy to pif that juice.

The guys with the HEMO squonkers, Plug's, L'Octopus', Half's, Black Panda's etc all have a Pico Squeeze or two for a kick around squonk.

Don't discount the Pico as a junk mod.

I had a pico briefly and it wasn't my thing, but I certainly had no trouble selling it, so there is that. If you hate a pico, ever, well, a lot of folks don't. I actually don't disagree with them as a starter device, I think they are user friendly, I just didn't like mine. It probably would've been fine with a different tank (even using EUC coils, I didn't enjoy that tank) but I have so many mods and got it for its rainbowness, and I don't consider it to get the best battery life either (the newest one) but some people just swear by them. I will say the size is nice.

I have no future plans to buy anything (I like how Vader always has a "scheme" in the works) but oh so quickly how that can change.... I still want a mod with a watch on it! But not at the pricing I've seen.

Maybe the husband can get me one for Valentine's day, we never get each other anything, but he's tired of always telling me what time it is. LOL. I mean outside and stuff, when I don't have my phone.

I know the answer is: buy a watch but a) I hate wearing them and b) I break or lose them. Sigh. MY life lot... Sorry just came from editing, everything looks gloomy from that perspective, although I maintain I am getting somewhere. This is a great place to come for a break. :)
