so...wound my first SS 316L fused clapton (winds 40AWG cores 26AWG).
a resounding success? no. a success? yes. pleased with it? yes...i am.
only problem (i think) was that i didn't straighten the two inner cores enough. excuse the quality of the photo...mobile phone then cropped a lot)
then hand wound a 3.5mm ID coil with my fist effort. it's not pretty. slightly shiny though.
more of this to come though i'll attempt not to bang on about it.
Looks pretty damn good for a first attempt, nice!
you seem to know your way around some of RDAs. have any experience with the Aeronaut?
Sadly, not yet... heard good things, will most likely get one sometime in the near future...

I wouldn't call the flavor unmatchable. The build is ridiculously simple. If you can't build on a genny, you should probably give up vaping and never be allowed around firearms or operate heavy equipment. If you have an Entheon, you can mostly replicate it by making a mesh wick for it. Mesh wicks are one of the few upsides to a genny - they last forever. The down sides are generally leaking, breakability and tops popping off. You can get a SMOKTech RSST genny pretty cheap if you really want to try one.
Thank you, I'll check that out.
I know I haven't "missed" much...
But I have this urge to start messing around with older equipment...
Some of it is absolutely fascinating, and it almost seems like some of it may have been on the right path, but quickly halted due to difficulty in building or lack of interest...
I'm thinking exploring some of that stuff may give me some insights I can use in the future.

Thanks...
I just wish it wasn't dead in there...
But, it does give you a place to ask a question and be pretty sure of getting an answer from someone who knows. Those that are really into gennies are likely subscribed and will see when you post.

Either that or just see who posted there and flag them with your question. Like this:

@retired1, can you help this person get started with gennies? Pretty please.

You will often get answers on a quiet thread if you post some, and usually some expertise, since the thread has been around a long time.

It was like that for me on the rayon thread-- I posted a question and my wicking problems were solved in about 3 posts. Most people interested in the topic may be watching the thread. Best of luck!

For example, I'm still subscribed to Regular Atty Drippers (A Dying Breed?). So, if anyone ever posts, I will see it. Even if it's been a long, long time since anyone had posted before. As long as it's still open and available for posting.

Me too! Just saw a review for the 2.5 version and it looks like it would be a lot of fun to play around with.

You gotta tell us more than that, @Sickbxy , LOL, unless you cannot.
The dreams and then I woke up several times in withdrawal fits. Was practically breathing through my nic hitter. Finally fell back asleep with it in my mouth. I haven't found that one yet, probably behind my be, I am using the back up now. Still analog free.

It really does get easier. Problem with dual using is we go thru detox twice. First when you cut back on smoking and again when you quit. Hang tough.

Amazing Single coil RDA, juice well is a foot and a half deep so it's not really ideal for squonking purists even though it comes with a BF pin.

That is the Aeronaut V2 (24mm) on the Wraith, far left.

Shenray is the clone to get, don't even bother with the first version.

They are actually quite reasonable in Authentic form and they have now created a new version (Aeronaut 2.5) that rotates the bottom airflow 90 degrees.

Quite the nice upgrade.
