I lost a Provari, still gives me knots in my stomach four years later... I purchased my Opus DNA40 to replace it. I have #0090, found #0086 on a Redit first look from 2015. LOL Opus Max 40 - why couldn't I have found you sooner? 25 years. I really don't know how to thank you. • r/electronic_cigarette

I still love my provaris. Mini 2.5 used to be my go to stealth vape. I think the Jac has won that spot. Tiny and at least it’s an 18650. I have a aspire milspec the vape store gave away with 4 18350 batteries because no one would buy them. Tiny tank. Excellent concealable, if you dismiss the pocket full of battery cases you have to bring along
I used to run a 4nine in 350 mode with a .5 build. I wouldn't do that anymore. Thought nothing of it then.

I'll share a secret with you...pretty coils don't vape any better than ugly ones. As long as the inner diameter is fairly consistent you've won the game.
Try posting a picture of an ugly coil and see how much guff this crew gives you . I just try and make sure they’re not crooked ;)

For a long time the only way to get decent power was with a mechanical. From the time I got my first K101 until I got the Sigelei 100 plus basically used nothing but mechmods. I didn't like it either. Felt like I was vaping a vhs tape. I have actually gotten more into regulated mods lately than I ever have before. I have tried to embrace tanks also but i just can't.
Mechs always made me nervous. I understand the physics of them, but I guess I don’t trust myself to be careful enough

Posting picks isn't required. I seldom post any of my builds pretty or not. Do enjoy looking at coil porn on instagram tho. There are some killer coil porn posts here on ECF as well.

Maybe they didn't make me as nervous as they should have. I had a Smok Magneto vent due to a plastic piece failing. Awakened a healthy respect in me.

Mechs don't do so well with high resistance builds. There is math involved to get the wattage you want so you may have to build different resistance than you do now. There are regulated devices that have mech mode so you can have a fixed 3.7 with protection.I have been more into regulated myself lately. I love my mechs and still use them sometimes but they stay at home now. If you are happy with regulated deviced than stick with them.

I think that was part of the “joy” of attys... oblivion to what the inside of the metal tube looked like. A peek through the cotton’s porthole, or a gander at the mesh on top is about all you get. I pulled one apart once (mostly out of curiosity) before tossing it. OMG, ewwwww.

Back in the day, I was afraid to wrap my own coils, I had the shop do it for me... I did not learn until I came back and the FDA started doing their dirty work making the shops afraid to touch devices. I started making them two months ago and I barely think anymore as I am doing them... just make sure the math is good, everything is tight and snug, check the ohm meter and toss them on. I only had a nautilus/ triton tanks for a month or two before I moved to the Quasar and Kayfun.

The FDA convinced me I better relent and learn to build. I still have 40 boxes of triton attys ( with a triton and 3 melo 2s in a shoebox JUST in case ) , and I’ll probably keep adding to my stockpile of zenith ones. Sometimes, it’s just nice to drop in and go. Especially on the road. Less mess and fussing. I’m afraid to count the other tanks and assorted boxes of attys in the other boxes

Once you cave gotten good at coils then you may want to try your hand at mechs. Most problems that arise with mechanicals are at the atty so if your coil skills are spot on you should have little to worry about. If you ever decide to try out mechmods there is plenty of knowledge on this thread and a whole section of ecf devoted to them as well.

I do like the Ares, and the build deck it has. Id like a shorter mtl tank for the Jac 25mm...any suggestions? Have a 22mm Siren 2 coming to go on the black Jac 22 when it gets released
If you've mentioned how you like the Jac I've missed it. How do you like it?
