Custard? Not really in my wheelhouse. I just know you will get different results from every brand. Flavorah is more concentrated than other brands and the ones I have are good but they don't always play well with others. I have really been enjoying the Wonder Flavors and Purlium flavors here lately. Very good stand alones and work well in recipes with other brands. Somewhere on this thread I gave @Skunk! a good custard mix that's popular next door. Remind me tomorrow and I'll look it up for you. Do the tester, might find they are stronger together.
