I love squirrels. Bright entertaining creatures. I would tell you to squirrel proof it but it's damn near impossible to squirrel proof anything unless you have a herd of cats. My little Foot brings down several a year. They all know him a yell up a storm while we are walking and my Beana keeps us mole free.

No, they taunt them from the other side of the fence, or the neighbors behind us palm trees. Not enough places to hide in citrus trees, too close to the ground. Could also be the hawks that nest in the tree next door.

We had a young hawk in our neighborhood for a couple years. So missed the morning bird song while he was here. Stunning creature tho.
