Handcut dovetails. Mahogany is like butter, bubinga not so much.

Having an in-house woodworker is a lovely thing. The hubs built most of our furniture. On the way to deliver princess #3, we had to stop and get this particular sander he needed to finish the pencil post bed he was making me. Dudes at the store couldn’t get us out the door quick enough . This is this years birthday present...excuse the glare on it. I promise it’s not dried out!

Bubinga. Smack once - sharpen - repeat. After about 15 frustrating minutes I quit sharpening and just roughed out the sockets with a chisel whose edge looked like an OG hockey player's chompers. Pretty wood though.
Vape Box details.jpg

Nothing but mahogany, cherry, figured maple & walnut for handcut from now on.
Lesson learned.
Here's a Greene & Greene table I made and kept.
It has functional ebony splines and breadboard ends. The longer section stays put as the top contracts/expands with the season. They're proud in the summer and sunken in the winter. Pic from December so the splines are below surface level on the ends.

Went back to my local b&m and grabbed a handful of DTs from the $2 bin since I liked them. And got an istick 80w for old times sake. 5000mAh battery should be perfect for the boat. And no tears if I drop it overboard. Just have to keep it out of the live well .

I have a Therion door ...

To this great unwashed neophyte [1], is the above:
  1. A portal into hyperspace, the supernatural, or indeed one of H P Lovecrafts' worst nightmares
  2. An intricate, antique piece of architecture, much like an ageing Greek Temple or faded Renaissance mural [much like the author of this reply in other words]
  3. A typo. What you meant to say was "An Atherion" [2], but why anybody would want to place an intricate, leather and wood example of such handcraft on the side of a fish-tank, seems both illogical, impractical, and dare I say it, jejune [3].
Ah I see. Google has informed me it is the following:

We are all doomed [especially those on this this thread]. Doomed. Utterly and completely doomed, I tell you  .

Footnotes:
[1]
A newbie, somebody not familiar with a particular subject or activity
[2] A member of the silverfish family - a small, long tropical fish
[3] Superficial

He uses a lot of mahogany and sinker cypress. I don’t question the number of board feet of lumber or tools, and he doesn’t count my vape gear. Fair trade.

@NolaMel, sorry to disappoint, while I love animals and live in the countryside, I'm from an engineering / IT background. Have you and @Eskie been swapping notes? He thought I was a vet
Sorry, luv. Scanning and not paying attention. I see lambs and immediately think it’s @AngeNZ posting . Although I’m not sure admitting you’re IT and not a vet is any safer in this crowd. Gadgets that misbehave and furry beasts abound here.

Ahhh… Spent my worksheet time on bullying (the Great Dr. Izzy, for those of you who are educators and or parents) he just takes bullying and washes the kid, the bully, and society's face with it. That and depression which perhaps I should not have spent so much time on especially alone... As the husband (somewhat resentfully) is waiting for my Adderall.

He should be grateful to do it, I mean, I am much less annoying to self and others on Adderall.

Also my back doesn't hurt for the first time since it started hurting and I did a billion chores yesterday so I'm definitely doing yoga.

That's plenty of shininess for me, I'm just waiting for the great Adderall and to be able to order this awesome spill free coffee mug someone pointed out on another thread that Amazon can bring directly to my home, which is ideal. LOL.

Vapebands anyone?
20180903154833_28138.jpg

No? Then maybe a driptip with a protective skull?
20180906142906_38431.jpg

If you thought that was bad then maybe directly go for the AVBAD
