I do not want to see the face of a man inflicted with VD, no. They usually look like they want to punch something as they cry, it's not a good expression. I usually read it as, "A vagina brought me into this world but I HAD NO CLUE one could take me OUT of it, too."

So nope, I'm still looking at the same thing. I've seen PLENTY of things about to fall off, during my own "Sex Ed" portion of life, and it really is a MIRACLE of the human brain that ANYONE gets a VD. That was burned into my head like, even during blackouts. I was like, "Yeah, I may not remember this in the morning but if you don't put this ON, I am going to have to remove something and I am not talking about my UNDERGARMENTS." (So they say.)

We have that joke here, but it's a sailor and an infantryman.

I'm impressed, in the UK we normally send our poorly educated to war, rather than those who attended private schools ;).

(Not meaning to be sarcastic, somebody once commented on the fact you always find military recruiting offices in the poorer areas and it stuck a chord. It never ceases to amaze me that politicians etc. would never dream of going to war, nor send their children, but are more than happy to allow everyone else to go. A bit like if men got pregnant the human race would die off ).

Not yet, but I have seen Churchill, which is excellent.

Oh man! You have to see it! Its an incredible movie about Churchills time as PM. It definitely shows how colorful of a person he was. Gary Oldman does a great job. Very interesting movie.

somebody once commented on the fact you always find military recruiting offices in the poorer areas and it stuck a chord.

Here they are placed where leases are cheap and in high traffic areas, preferably "foot" traffic.
They are also placed in areas where the traffic is 'recruit age' appropriate.
More recruits are had by visiting High Schools and Colleges than from any 'off the street traffic'.
The US Armed Forces has had no shortage of volunteers for a very long time. The numbers that are turned away would surprise you. The focus is retention.

It never ceases to amaze me that politicians etc. would never dream of going to war, nor send their children, but are more than happy to allow everyone else to go.

Historically, politicians here want to have Military Service on their records for themselves or their children, especially during combat actions, because of the 'brownie points' factor.
That doesn't mean they won't use whatever influence they have at their disposal to insure the smallest amount of risk possible.
I'm certainly not saying all do this, but you get the idea.

There are more High School and College graduates in the US Armed Forces per capita than anywhere else in the United States.

Education is not only encouraged, it is rewarded in the US Military.

I know of at least one who dodged a draft and it didn't seem to put the slightest dent in his political career

Then again, I'm not sure what would at this point

You'll notice I said historically.

I would never disrespect the Office Of The President Of The United States with any form of criticism. Publicly or privately.

As many a DS has stated, my job is to help preserve Democracy, not practice it. :)

I have 4 statements I tell young 'uns all the time:

1. You don't have to respect the man, but you WILL respect the rank.

2. You don't have to like it, you just have to do it.

3. The only easy day was yesterday.

4. Think before you speak. You might be summing up your entire career with your next sentence.

I'm not sure the same enlightened approach is adopted over here apart from induction into the senior ranks. I certainly can't remember any UK politician of late who comes from a military background.

On a side note, I've been following a few of the reviewers who test MRE's [Meals ready to Eat], and some of the US rations are really quite impressive. And I didn't realise that instant coffee was a product of the war years, initially designed for the troops.

@NolaMel - the solution is easy, buy an ammit mtl rta FOR your new aegis mini. You'll get 20 points for the names being matchymatchy ;)

@untar - the doggy pic was priceless :lol::lol:
You’re always such a help ;). Now, if my $ tree would just bloom, or cash would rain from the sky....I’d pick it up asap lol. But, Since the mod is on preorder, I have to be patient anyway. Preorder vs FT is about equal in my estimation.
