Evening peeps,

Hope all are well and on the wind down into the holiday season. Less than a month to go, and Mrs OG is already stocking up on Christmas food.

Had a bit of a crazy week hence lack of posts and shinies. Mrs OG has now ordered my Christmas present, it will arrive this week. It is vape related, and involves squidgy / rotating bits and magnets. Oh, and it is shiny - I didn't have much of a choice. I'm not allowed to open it until Christmas day, but I might sneak a photo of the box. And it will please @Hightech Redneck.

Batteries have gone back to Amazon, but Royal Mail "might" destroy them, the clerk in the Post Office was not sure if they would or not. They were happy that they were packed safely, and sent them on their way. If RM do scrap them they will get a rather stern letter seeking compensation, if Fogstar can regularly send batteries unmolested through the post, I don't see why I can't.

Was beginning to panic on an industrial scale, have a variety of over 500ml of juice maturing, and the first sample 3 weeks in on the Dead Rabbit RTA (with a single 8T SS316L 3mm 26 awg) was disappointing - quite a vicious, harsh throat hit. Cotton and coil was bedded in properly, so I don't understand it as it as all the test dripping I'd done on the Wasp was fine. Dripped a few samples tonight on the wasp to check and they are all OK (Thank goodness), so it must be the DR setup.

Have now been initiated into the ranks of "serious vaper", had my first official crusty coil using commercial juice. The Wotofo Elevate had just over a week of use, and the tank was in rotation with the Wasp so it wasn't even getting that much of a daily hammering.

Compare against the DR and the Wasp, 1 day and > 1 week use with DIY juice respectively and the same coils. The Wasp coil is dark, but no crusty bits. The Wotofo even had loose crusty bits inside the chimney (yuk).

View attachment 782249 I’m suffering from severe shinyitis and it may kill me. I want I want I want this shiny :hubba: :unsure:

It’s a 169.99 pounds
I want that one so bad!!! I splurged in that Yihi SL class when it was on sale though so I feel guilty even thinking about the Thor. I tell myself, get the Thor, and sell the one you like less. But I know me and I’ll keep them both. And I really need to focus on buying gifts for others, not only myself lol

Harshness and crispy shell could be an airflow issue. Is it possible to lower the coil more towards the inlet?

The DR wasn't crispy (it was the Elevate), but your bang on as always, @untar. I'd raised the coil up quite a bit towards the mouthpiece in a vain attempt to replicate the Wasps' flavour profile, that was my big mistake.

I've rebuilt the DR with the coil just a mm off the ears, flavour is not bad at all, just not quite as good as the Wasp. It has cured the harshness now, thank goodness.

I can't lower the Elevate coil any more, otherwise it would short on the deck. It is bang in line with the airflow, so it is probably all the extra sweetener in the juice. I'm assuming it has quite a lot added, it was lemon flavoured, but quite sweet and not tart.

That Wasp has totally spoiled me now, it really is the atty to use as a flavour baseline.

Fell hard for the Aqua Aegis Legend so Santa is bringing me one for Christmas. Now I have to get a pretty blue Blitzen to top it off.

Since I started DIY I have been spending my previous juice buget on vape gear. This will eventually even out, right? And I'll start *saving* money?
Eccigity has the Blitzen for $18 shipped I believe with their sale code posted on the home page.

Yeah I keep waiting for that day when I’m saving money too lol!!

I spend about.. 45 dollars this year? (In that neighborhood anyway)

2018, best year ever..

@SlowTalker ... yes, you can.. once your set up.

This year I won an Innokin Proton kit, as well as a Vaptio Captain (the Vaptio kind of sucks.. lol)

I bought a used Pulse, and a new Wasp..

That's it. I've not bought any flavors or VG or anything. I might have bought a liter of nicotine last January, but it may have been in December so I'm unclear if I bought it this year or last..

That's it for me.. I've bought four or so sirens for my husband and some flavors for him, but I've not opened that nicotine I bought last year yet, and I still have plenty of VG and PG..

My husband won't need a new mod for years... He is the inheritor of all the provaris.

Have you tried any other small chambered RDAs?

Not yet, @dom qp - the only other drippers I've got are the Aspire Nautilus and the Geekvape Loop, and they both tower over the miniscule Wasp.

If you get a recommendation in, I might be able to sneak it onto the Christmas list :D.

Price/Performance, the Wasp has a really good ratio. It's like getting a 93 Honda Civic with 300,000 miles for $250. If you usually commute using public transport, it's life changing.

But you compare the 93 Honda Civic to something more modern and you realize it's a 93 Honda Civic. If you get a new car it'll be a better experience, but it's not as noticeable as going from a bicycle to a car, where that changes your lifestyle.

My favourite RDAs are the B2K ($100 CAD), KRMA ($140 CAD), and Citadel ($100 CAD). In my opinion either of the 3 offer a significant performance difference over the Wasp, but it's not what I would recommend.

Instead of getting a better RDA, for the same price i'd recommend you get a regulated squonker.

You think the Wasp is that great? Turn it into your daily driver.
