We get cicadas here almost every year. All the varieties love it down here. Conditions are near perfect for them.
Never saw or heard on until I moved to the south. We have something knarly like that in California. We called them potato bugs. They lived underground and they did not make noise though

Despite my own deep dislike, I must say I find Cicadas far more disturbing when they come out of the ground for their every what, 10 year mating cycle? The shells are really hard, and they fly, but not well as they've been living in the ground for years, so they're clumsy and fly right into walls and windows. They sound like someone tossed a small rock. As for stepping on them, well, steel toed boots are the method of choice. For the sake of the sensitive stomach crowd, I warned you.

I love cicadas...there the sound of summer here :)

It looks like we have a couple of types but I’ve never seen them. They do sound pretty at night though.

The summer wouldn't be summer without them...the first few years that I was hear they seemed really in your face and now they're just a pleasant background hum of the heat :)

@Letitia and who ever else knows ;)

What raspberry combo do you use? I've got Pur Raspberry, which is awesome, but fades after a few weeks. I can get locally the following:
Inawera Raspberry Malina
Inawera Shisha Raspberry
Flavour Art Raspberry
Lorann Raspberry Colourless
Edited to add Cap Raspberry
Malina is very strong but does last and will hold its own in your creams. I use it at 0.3-0.5% with inw shisha raspberry 1.5-2%. The Purilum I prefer as a lone raspberry. Malina can also can give grapes a boost, just a couple drops will do. I have to say I get no fade from the Purilum raspberry but my creams aren't as heavy as yours. Maybe up it 1% for a large batch or just mix a liter of the ice cream and pull off 30-50ml for adding other flavors as needed.
