Heard it from the man himself. The matte black version is currently in production. I hope their spelling's OK 'cause my name's on one of them.

I was underwhelmed by it, but I don’t have much rda experience, so when things don’t perform as well as I’d like, I default to thinking I didn’t build it well.

I’m tempted by that Vital, sure looks good. I’m very pleased with the Bunkers and Recurves though. They’ll be hard to top. And I gotta pay off my credit card. Maybe if there are any left after that I’ll try one.

I haven’t decided yet. I need to watch a few videos before I buy anything plus read more posts. I do love the look though of the deck.

The Recurve is definitely a great flavor rda. I don’t have the Blank. I’ve watched a couple of reviews but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

I still have about 8-10 or more RDAs that I haven’t built yet so I’m TRYING to play with those b4 buying more.

Trying is the operative word here.

I don’t hate the wasp. If I’d gotten it before the recurve and bunker*** I probably would have been pretty happy with it. And even so, it’s not awful. Mine don’t seem to whistle though. Whoosh, yes, whistle no.

*** I wish there were more people with these two giving opinions on them. Seems like they’re not popular due to looks (windows? Squished in top cap?) I tell ya, and you know me and how I feel about aesthetics, even if they were .... ugly I’d vape ‘em.

I find it easier to order alphabetically the way it’s listed in my Flavor Stash on ELR. It’s simple for me to do an inventory that way. I had of thought of by manufacturer or profile but it just is less confusing to me this way. And anything that can cut down my confusion level is a good thing  !!
I have a feeling I'll be going down this route eventually.

Yeah ive watched several videos on it. It looks mostly like a matter of practice, but also looks like theres a fair bit of investment involved when it comes to materials/equipment. Drill amd swivels i have (being a mechanic and a fisherman) but the other specialty tools and ohm measuring device i dont have. I understand ohms law and electricity since i do some electrical work, just not how it applies to coil making per se. Seems like most want a .05 rating or so since it raises as coils heat up. I also know that generally thicker wire means more resistance. If i decide to do it i want to know its safe to use so i still need to read into it quite a bit.

Ive looked into RDAs and RTAs and i think Id rather have an RTA. I like having some tank reserve rather than having to keep rejuicing the coil on an RDA. Especially given that i vape during breaks at work, just dont have time to worry about juicing it.
Thicker wire has less resistance, I believe.

    Morning shinies :)

@Skeebo - ELR is a recipe/mixing/forum/recipe creator site. We can't link to it, but Google e-liquid recipes and it will come up. If you click on User or create account, you can then enter in all your flavours under 'my stash'.

Also can search for other recipes based on what flavours you have by clicking on 'what can I make?'. You can change someone's recipe - sub flavours, or change ratios by clicking the fork icon. Click on 'Create Recipe' to make your own juice. If you click on a specific flavour in your stash, you can then click on 'Notes' to get % or tasting info, and click on 'Recipes' to see all the recipes created with this flavour.

It's an awesome resource for mixing :thumb:

I also use this reddit index for info on individual flavour tasting notes, and starting percentages:

I have a feeling I'll be going down this route eventually.

Everyone has a particular way at organization that works best for them. But it’s so easy to start at A on my Flavor Stash list on elr and work my way through the list and polish cases to see what I have and what I’m running low on.

The only other option that I would consider is by manufacturer. Still would be confusing to me doing an inventory. Of course this is all predicated on if you use the Flavor Stash option. ATF also has a Flavor Stash but I decided to stay with elr because I use the recipe calculator. You can select a flavor you need from a recipe and enter Add to Shopping Cart. How simple is that?!!

Easy Peasy for me. You’ll come up with your own style that works for you.

Yeah i figured i would start easy then work my way up. The appeal to me in the more exotic multi-wire builds inthe longevity. One builder on youtube said he got 3-6 months out of his fused. Helixed clapton wire build with regular cleaning. I dont mind trying that, im good withmy hands and all, but i have to know how to verify its safe to use first.

Even a simple plain round wire coil can last you a few months if you take care of them and clean them on a regular basis. On some ways easier than the complex exotic coils which have so many tiny spaces it's sometimes hard to get them all sparkly again. I wouldn't look at an exotic coil for longevity but for functionality. That is easier to achieve if you start out with some simple round coils to see how they perform. Then you'll have a base for comparison. You might be surprised how little the gain might be for you over simplicity, unless you just like making stuff because it's fun. We all do that.

As for safety, one is not safer than another. Safety comes from understanding your power source and the load you're placing on it, the resistance (coil mass also figures in when you get into big beefy exotic coils, more metal to hear up). As long as you have a device, an ohm meter (they're cheap) or even a regulated mod that will display the resistance you're OK on that side. Then it's just following the same safety policies of any sort of build, securef properly, no extra little metal pieces floating around that might cause a short, that sort of stuff.

In a way it sounds harder than it really is after you've done it even just one or two times

Very true. I've some simple coils in rat's that are embarrassingly old but still perfect.
Once you've built a few coils and wicked them you soon realise there's no real difficulty to it.
After that you then enter into the weird world of minute detail, where you question if there's better ways of building those coils or more efficient longer lasting wicking methods.....
Then you realise life's too short and return to simple coils wicked good enough. Lol.

Found this on ebay for $10. It is the original game from the 1950's. Should be fun for family game time.:) Madstabber introduced me to it on a different thread
A pack of skunk has a whole different meaning here. Lol.
Reminds me of the story my dad told of the first time he travelled to the state's (New York) and was desperate for a smoke so went over to the first kiosk vendor he saw and asked for 20 fags.
This request was not well received.

Did they finally just point him in the right direction?

I've spent a few years in New York. Do you really think anything except almost a fist fight was gonna happen.
It was not an enlightened place in the late 80's when I went. Let alone the early 80's when he first went. Lol.
He got used to it pretty quickly.
His company had buildings in New York, Boston and los Angeles so he had to carry about a bunch of different hat's in his suitcase like a dirty secret.
He used to have nightmares that he'd accidentally put the red Sox or Yankees hat's on when going to the Dodgers game.

If you think NY was not enlightened, don’t ever come to Ohio. I mean ever. Really.
