Those window mount units are a pain in the backside to install. Did you have an extra set of hands to help?

No, I just strong arm them into place. Our apartment is ground level which makes it much easier too. The LG unit allowed you to remove the works from the casing so you only have to mount the casing then slide the whole unit into place.

A buddy of mine dropped one out the window of his building a few years ago... It fell from the third floor to the concrete walk below, he lost the AC unit and was very lucky no one was walking there at the time.

We had one of those. They work well, albeit noisy.

I seriously pondered a portable. We only have a patio door in the living room which would have made it tricky to get out to the BBQ, but that could have had a workaround rigged up for the vent. It was all the reports of noise level in the reviews that killed it as a choice.

The AFC has both a slit and a three hole section. You can dial it way down if you like. I wouldn't call it MTL but you can restrict it pretty far.

I came and laid back down in bed and now I've got the kitty curled up against me in sound asleep mode, hubby behind me using me as the teddy bear/security blanket he's curled up snoring on..

and now I'm a bit hungry and can't get up without, apparently, bothering the world..

Thank God I can still reach my mod and the remote!

Ive been using the Axial for a week and the flavor is DELICIOUS! The airflow wide open is definitely DL but closing the airflow down and it’s a tight RDL.

Bummer. If it's any consolation, my goal was to pick up a gold one to make a full set but those were sold out too. Hard to pass on that 50% off deal. I suspect there were a few people trying to swoop them.

I work weekends and and do actually take a few hours break from the forums on occasion.
I miss their faces and antics but very much enjoying the stress relief. The last couple of weeks it seemed I spent more time frustrated with all the critters rather than enjoying their company. I know the older cats are much more content with them gone and G&G keep us all pretty entertained. My Em is certainly happy to have Mom's lap available again.
