@Fidola13 does your Cthulu tube mod have the updated version 2 mosfet installed and are your spares version 2 ???

Version 2 mosfet's have a dab of silicone under the tab. The v2 mosfet is also coated.

Like so...see the dab of silicone under the tab. You want that.

If your mosfet's do not have the silicone then you have version 1. You do want v2 mosfet's for this mod.
I was looking at info on this mod tonight. That led to much info on the v1 versus v2 mosfet's.
Please let me know.

Edit: BTW that tab serves as the connection to your atty.

Thanks for reminding me to check. I remember reading about that problem and the “fixed” it. I’ll check out!!

I think I have V1 I’m not seeing anything under the fire tab. I’m to return it.

Undo the screw you can see at 7 oclock in your picture and then the mosfet will just fall out. The bit you're looking for is on the other side it's what your 510 hits as it gets screwed into the mech....hope that helps :)

I live across the street from a river where all sorts of raptors nest. I see them all the time.

I only had them circle on my dogs when they were pups, and I was aware that would happen, so I just stayed close.

Trick is, chase them off while they’re circling, because once they dive, forget it. So if suddenly all the little birds duck into a shrub and become silent, look up, or if a shadow covers your entire yard.

I like to use the wave my arms and scream profanities technique to scare them off.

I got almost everything on my to do list done yesterday. I got the entire yard mowed! Didn’t need to weed wack at all around the front because I spayed Roundup along the edges, and yesterday I sprayed everything in the back.

I need to run to Menard’s or somewhere and find a larger flapper valve and work on the pool some more.

My axial and other stuff is supposed to come tomorrow, so it’ll be good to occupy myself so I’m not constantly checking the updates.

My neighbors must think I’m a lunatic before when I see a hawks circling I wave my arms all over the place screaming for the dogs to come to! It’s exhausting lol!!

Always happy to inspire fostering. You do not have to have a zillion and your house does not have to stink if you do it right. Kittens in cages ALWAYS until you are sure they know the litter box well. After that a spare bedroom is all you need and only get a few at a time. It is so easy to have some kittens to entertain you especially if you do not have to have them when they are adults and just eating, pooping hair leaving everywhere cats that will steal your money with vet bills. Below is my newest fosters Biscuit and Bagel. Babies abandoned at a storage facility. What is wrong with people  (no wonder I do like them) lol.View attachment 822299 View attachment 822301

Glad it's the prob solved version...did you have a look and see the problem as you screwed your atty in the 510 is going to push that little bit of metal down and over time it would have ended up flat....

I've been reading about some people having health problems here. Thought i'll share this with you. It got rid of my aching hands within a week. I've seen a few videos that it works wonders for arthritis. Man this stuff gives me energy to. Take two capsules in the morning and I zoom around all day. Have a look at this video. Helps for almost everything. There's even a surprise at the 7.20min mark...;)

Interested. How and where do you buy? I Googled it but am leery of buying at all the online places shown. Half the time you get a bit of the product and tons of other crap (fillers)

Morning shiners, nothing vape related expected at the mailbox today. Here is a pic of the shiny delivered a couple days ago. Also, I think this new Profile Unity rta trumps the zeus single coil. I did a quick build and loaded up with vanilla custard, threw it on the Legend, awesome vape. :thumb:

Little screws, buttons, and pins are pretty skittish (and slightly suicidal) ... they'll jump without provocation, and find any gap, hole, crack, or hidey place before you can say 'oh shi-'.

The button is only held in place by the clicky button on the board ... sometimes getting them back in place and re-inserting the board is magically easy ... more often it involves a little cajoling and perhaps some "words" and whispered threats.

Good morning shiners! Not a great day around here. Weather sucks, I've got a tooth I think is a problem that started last night so now to find a dentist to see me ASAP, and meeting my daughter for an appointment to follow up with the GI doc after her stomach bleeding episode last week. Oh well, that's life.

@bigbob2322 and @Opinionated congrats to both of you on 5 years! You're an inspiration to us all!

I was wondering how your daughter was doing. I hope they find out what the problem is, quickly and accurately. You guys are in my thoughts.

And it doesn’t help if you have MS and fibromyalgia!!

Yep! It wasn’t pretty but it’s in there and clicking when pressed. Thanks for your help!
No probs....most things will come apart but sometimes putting the bits back in has to be done in the right order or there's a knack to it....anyway glad you've got it back to together. IMO we should all know how to get are mechs apart :)

I wondered why my custard alert went off last night.

Happy hump day shinies!

Girl Scouts thin mints for breakfast? Why not?

Only shiny I have on the truck today is a new tablet. Now, you may remember that I just bought a new Huawei Mediapad M5 a few weeks back. Unfortunately, my girlfriend has fallen in love with it and adopted it as her own. There's no getting it back now, so I was a smart boy and ordered another for myself. I replaced it with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e that's landing today. That AMOLED screen is smexy as hell, so I think it worked out pretty well for the both of us :D

Good. I'm glad you have v2 mosfet's.

Honestly I don't know if 3rd party sellers would ship their initial units back for the updated ones.

I have no clue as to how many of the v1 mosfet devices and spare chips are still 'out there'. My feeling is better safe than sorry.

Think it is a nice mod and I am considering grabbing one + spare mosfet's.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For anyone looking at the Cthulu tube mod here is some info which may be of help.
Also @Heartsdelight as you did express an interest in the mod yesterday.

There are two versions of the mosfet. You want to make certain you have version 2 for safety (see the end of this post for what safety features the mod has).

Here are a couple things to be aware of with the version 1 mosfet.

1) The tab on the original mosfet would get bent downward from a longer positive pinned atty.
1 Screen shot 2019-06-18 at 10.16.12 PM.jpg

Note: See the tab above. That serves as the connection to your atty.

2) Version 1 of the mosfet was not coated. Meaning if you got liquid on it the device could auto-fire (per Todds videos).

Cthulu was made aware of these problems a while back and updated the mosfet with a glob of silicone under the tab on the mosfet. Problem 1 solved.
2 Screen shot 2019-06-18 at 10.18.58 PM.jpg

See the silicone glob under the tab above. That is a version 2 mosfet.

Cthulu also coated the mosfet meaning if you get liquid on it it won't auto-fire unlike v1.
Problem 2 solved. (per Todds video)

Also be aware if you have an atty with a longer 510 positive pin and you screw it down you can break the mosfet. (per Todds video)

Here are Todds videos if interested.
Todds original video for an explanation of the problems.

His 2nd video/review covers how Cthulu resolved the problems.

The mosfet protections include reverse battery protection, if it detects a short it won't fire and it has a 3.2 volt cutoff. I believe those are the same protections found in the Luna (and other similar devices).

I am considering getting one directly from Cthulu as you are assured of getting the v2 mosfet.
Mod:
Cthulhu Tube MOD, Cthulhu Tube
Mosfet:
Cthulhu Tube chip
Instructions how to change the mosfet:
How to replace Cthulhu Tube chip? – CTHULHU MOD -Innovations for Vaping
Replacement button:
Cthulhu Tube Button

That is the end of my public service announcement. ;)

Cheers!!! :)
