Good morning, Charlie, along with all of the other shinies!
Dropping out of vaping and then dropping back in 2 years later has been kind of weird. Seems like AsMODus has become the new Provari, and stabwood ("stabwood", really?) is the new titanium.
The term "stabwood" threw me for a loop at first, because as a luthier, "stabilized wood" is wood that has been heat treated ("roasted") and doesn't need finish. In fact, before I left the last time, one of the Tootle Puffers was making a roasted cherry mod, which he referred to as "stabilized wood". Which it is. Wood that doesn't need a finish.
Here's a cedar guitar body I did a couple of years ago ("Janine"). I coated the wood with a heavy layer of clear epoxy resin (thinned with acetone), and let it just disappear into the wood. A few days later, I repeated the process. Then I sanded and polished it smooth, and the color will probably never change much. It also added over 2 lbs to the weight of the body, so I won't be doing that one again. Or maybe I will. I wonder if people would pay more for a "stabwood" guitar?

Beautiful cats! Guitar too, what pickups? I've been playing guitar for 50 years, my wife says I have got worse ... I agree!
Some would pay more, others would balk at the extra weight. I’m betting on a guitar forum it would be debated much like mods are, here. Some would have issues with one component or another - neck is too thick or too thin, Love or hate the pick ups or bridge...
I used to debate like that back when I knew a thing or two. I’ve been out of the music loop too long now. I have no idea what’s what in guitars anymore. You do beautiful work though.
i like the dual very much. smooth with a decent well. easy build too.I’ve been considering the Recurve dual since I like the single so much. I could use a good dual. How do you like it?
Thank you. Shiloh and Sasha are both amazingly cute. I've been playing guitar, off and on, for almost 50 years myself.
The pickups are by GFS. The "Alnico Fatbody" set. Love the oversized pole pieces--they pick up a lot of string presence. The bridge pickup is wound to 8K, the neck to 5.5K. The bridge pickup is amazingly clear for a hot alnico, almost like a ceramic. The neck pickup retains that twang that so many of us want and need from a tele neck.
Go for it! You know, in the guitar world, we call shinyitis "GAS", for Guitar Acquisition syndrome. There are folks who own more guitars than you own mods!Contemplating cutting my nails and dusting off the guitar today.

At one time, I owned about 50 guitars. I am fortunate that many victims of GAS have come my way over the years. I sold my 107th guitar last week.
Morning Fred or evening for you I expect....that's tiny although we're used to tiny with the BB's....I saw the Pasito advertised and anything that's rebuildable has got to be better than drop in coils.....as long as it works that isThe pasito RBA landed today.
View attachment 826671 Still waiting on the pod kit. I couldn't resist to put a build into it. WoW its tiny.
Smallest rba i've ever dealt with. I went for a 2mm coil to start off with.

Then dropped it on a mod and gave it a whirl....only had the o rings, as the drip tip comes with the kit.

I got a good feeling about this one![]()
.....But not necessarily in that orderContemplating cutting my nails and dusting off the guitar today.
Woke to discover I'd won an ebay auction: I was the only bidder on a supposedly original, supposedly only used for two weeks Kayfun v4. Got it for $50, shipped. Now I wait to see whether it's the real thing. I fully expect to have been screwed.
