@Vape Muppet Nice to have you back. Sending positive thoughts for your dad's speedy recovery.

Thank you very much. :)

@Vape Muppet I know how hard all of that must be on your family, and I’d be depressed too, in your dad’s shoes. Does he have any good distractions? Maybe if he’s able to read or listen to music, or play games on a phone or tablet...? When my MIL was sick, all she wanted was her retro tv, Gunsmoke and Bonanza. My husband got a tablet and browsed eBay. Anything to take your mind off things for a bit.

Anyway, glad you stopped by, and I wish you and your family all the best.

No sadly not. He won't even read his books which is one of his favourite things to do. He can watch TV but he doesn't want to. My Mum managed to get him to do the crossword the other day and at least read the newspaper. Doctors have him on some anti-depressants. Can't say I blame him either, must be mind numbing looking at four walls all day. Pretty soon he will have been in there 7 weeks.

Thank for you the best wishes, really appreciate it. :)

Hello everyone. Been a while I know, but I hope you're all keeping well. :)

My Dad is still in hospital. Heart operation went well but he ended up with an infection. In fact he ended up with two infections in one of his legs and got Sepsis twice. Problem is that leg has vascular issues so they had serious problems treating the infection. In fact things were looking very dire at one stage and the doctors were talking about amputating his leg. So it's been chaos around here and a great deal of stress for the whole family.

But the good news is he seems to be over the worst of it now, sadly being in there so long has made him very depressed, and he was so miserable he was sending away the physiotherapists he needs to get walking again. Of course my Mum and I have put a stop to that and told him straight he will do as he's bloody well told if he wants to get out of there.

Anyway in regarding vape news, I bought a bit of vape gear. Got a Taifun GT III clone from 3fVape a couple of days ago, exactly the same as my authentic but needs the O-rings replacing since they're crap. Also got another YTFK FEV 4.5, love that tank.

And today I got three parcels at once. Another FEV PEI tank to reduce the weight and overall size. A Ataman IV which @charlie1465 told me was worth trying. Got the Ulton Taifun GTR and I think it's better than my YTFK one, although that one is serviceable enough.

Also the Ulton Tripod @ShowMeTwice has been going on about for ages. A Shenray FEV RDA which has a lovely deep well and great throat hit. Also a YTFK GTR PSU Tank since the YTFK one only comes with a PMAA tank. Some more stainless wicks for my FEV, and an Ataman III. Lastly some of those micro cleaning brushes, the ones on the key chain.

At least I have plenty of choice now for when I fancy a vape while out gardening. All the best! :)
You and your parents are in my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully he gets to go home soon. Hospital is no place to recuperate!!

My night blooming cereus. It blooms at midnight, and by daybreak the blossom is wilted....so, excuse the poor photo quality. I’m not such a sparky photographer in the middle of the night!!

Yay, 3Fvape order arrived! I have some super fun things to try (clones, but I'm okay with that.)

It was really rather fast, too. :) Unopened by customs as far as I can tell. I think the key may be "under 100 dollars" to be honest.

When shipping is free, doing that is not a big deal, heck one could just split one's order if necessary.

My goal is to get all my regular doggies swapped out with Y2K doggies. They're so much easier, and it is SO much easier to ignore a wick that looks like death but is vaping fine. IDK why the doggy is so prone to that, although I have found less wicking and a slightly higher coil to help.

I did use ELR and the scale is AWS from Amazon, recommended several times in the DIY, measures to .01 g. I checked to see if it was calibrated and it was.

I could have mixed blind and had a better juice. They must not have accurate weights on a couple things I have.

I need more donut juice anyway, so I’ll measure as usual and weigh too, just out of curiosity, and see what the difference is. I can’t see this being my sole method though. It was really hard for me to pour the correct amount. Took me a lot longer this way.

It’s a great scale for baking though, lol. I got it to use with the Great British Baking show cook books.
I normally have all the specifics for flavors turned off so that 1ml =1g..

Try that maybe that's your problem :)

NY

I remember going to the Iowa state fair. Pretty amazing experience of middle America. Got caught in a stampede, or as a NYer what I considered a stampede.

It was really about 30 cows being moved across the field / fairgrounds / whatever that I got caught up in the middle of. For the most part the cows steered around me, and those that wouldn't responded to a bit of a push. The really bad part was ending up covered in cow drool. It's way nastier than dog drool. That was my big farm adventure and extent of my experience with farm animals outside of a petting zoo.

No Shinys for me today. As a matter of fact I’m going to pack up some of the very restrictive MTL attys I bought for the Provaris that are just too tight for me and post them “somewhere”. The Hadaly and Entheons work perfectly for me on those mods.

Somehow I actually ordered 4 Ammits and I’ve never even opened 3 of them. Not sure how this keeps happening. Like the 3 Luna’s I bought but have only used one lol!! Oh and the original Aspire - how does anyone get a draw from that thing!!! Lol! The Nautilus X was much better except I think I accidentally ordered two of those two ha ha ha!

I think I must just keep adding to The Cart then not reviewing the cart before I check out. Sounds like something I would definitely do. I prefer the Pumper 18 of which I somehow ordered two anyways. Lol!

Honest to god I could open my own vape shop with the gear that’s never been opened or used!!!

Lol!!

So I’ve got reverse shinyitis- is that a thing???

Have a great day everyone!!

Well, plumbers are here. I decided not to bathe until after they left. I replaced my first doggy with Y218 doggy because it did me the very great pleasure of coming apart in my hands as I grabbed it. I have a couple like that I think it was overtightening the threads, actually, because I tried new O-rings all sorts of stuff. I am learning-- finger tight on tanks.

It looks lovely in any case.

IDK what to do with my kid he has been complaining of extreme fatigue since last night. I want to take him to Bisbee but not if it will make him "miserable."

The plumbers say there was "Grass and stones" in our "cleanout valve" and that someone had to have done that on purpose. IDK. I was feeling paranoid about evil doc, but then I was like, "That's ridiculous, the tub was slow when I got here.

I guess it could have been the prior tenants? Maybe? There were vague statements of "bad blood" upon leaving and things that needed to be "undone." I bet it was them, if it was anyone but hey, who knows.

Perhaps the boy is suffering from Game Consoling Withdrawal... in which case I should maybe like get him out of the house. OH MAN speaking of that, I nearly got charged with manslaughter yesterday. I was going through the drive through of Dairy Queen and the kid like, wanted a slurry or flurry or whatever. THIS KID (maybe 10) darted RIGHT out in front of my car like OUT OF NOWHERE.

It was very similar to like what a cat does only it was a human. If I had not CAUGHT movement out of the corner of my eye I would have HIT him. Granted, I was not going that FAST but you know, there is just NEVER a good speed to hit a kid. NEVER.

I was to shaken to blow my horn, yell insults or even chase him down and tell him he deserved to die. I just sat there, freaking out, going OMG OMG OMG that KID WANTED TO DIE.

It SUCKED.

I explained to the plumber as he was proudly showing me his fixes (My comments were like, "Yeah I don't care about the toilet it has worked the whole time." ) He was strangely obsessed with it though.

Anyway he got the drain moving in the tub. He showed me this revolting clot of decades old hair and then wanted to shove it in my bathroom trash. I was like "NO." He was like "I will take it outside" and I was like, "No, I don't need the little dog eating it let me show you my kitchen trashcan."

THEN I pointed out the hot water pressure in the tub was like 90% hot to 10% cold and it made it hard to BATHE. He got all shifty like "We may have to come back and I don't have the right tools and I was like, "You NEVER have the right tools, no offense, but after going through all this, you think I CARE if you have to go get the right tools? Go get them."

Maybe I am a bit high maintenance but this has been the Suck. I bet once it's over the kid nd I will feel better, and bathe, and go to Bisbee. I just BET it.

Picked the Rosefinch up to have a vape earlier, and the bottom bit fell off. When I reassembled everything, the mod autofired. I have a feeling I put the top magnet in the wrong way. Now I have to figure out how to disengage it from the other magnet so that I can flip it over and see if that takes care of the problem. That is going to involve a struggle--these magnets are strong--and I'm not at all happy that the thing fell apart in the first place.

The Kraken has been moved to the green Colossal till I get the Rosefinch working again. It looks good there.

I went through a lot of juice in a short while on the Rosefinch. I know this is partly because a 1 ohm coil on a fresh battery vapes at a higher wattage than the 8.5W I've settled on in my regulated mods since I switched to RBAs, but I'm wondering if mesh wicks are thirstier than cotton. Or maybe Genesis atomizers are greedy? Or, for some reason, the Kraken?

Be careful you don't crack the magnet getting it out. Rare earth magnets are very brittle
I have dentists picks and hooks for working on vape gear. Comes in handy quite often. If you can get something sharp and pointy between them you should be able to carefully pry them apart. I had stacked disc magnets in my old Asmodus mech mod for a while until I found replacement magnets for it. It came with 2 button magnets that were different strengths and I broke them both. Sorry to hear of your dilemma. Good luck. When you get it back tohether make sure to check the screw on the button often. Mechanical mods require a fair amount of maintenance. It is made to be taken apart.
Polish everything inside while it's disassembled. The outsides of mine get tarnished pretty bad sometimes but the insides are kept immaculate. The button will build up a lot of patina quickly if it isn't cleaned and this will affect conductivity if it gets bad enough. Could lead to hot spots as well.
Pro tip: to test the polarity of the magnets, put the button in backwards. If the magnets stick then the button magnet is in the right way. If they repel then you have to flip it or they will stick when you put the button in the right way.

Wow these plumbers are just... .Terrible. I guess they did not even CHECK the spouse's bathroom at ALL because apparently his toilet was beyond redemption.

You know, you are supposed to CHECK EVERYTHING. The plumber was talking a LOT about calcification and vinegar and like, flushing everything OR new toilet etc. but I was like, "Okay, you are not doing that one TODAY.

I am going to make them demonstrate me the shower, the sink (in the husband's bathroom) and like yesterday my son pointed out that said "Irrigation system" on the cutoffs instead of "main house valve." The son laughed a lot and I was like "DO I NEED TO FREAK?" and he said, no they did the same thing only it would make it very hard for anyone coming after US.

I would LOVE to care about that, but WHEN the boy leaves, I will be texting landlord these things, just so hopefully whoever comes next.... Heh.

    Morning shinies ;)

mtl clapton wire (yay!!!!!!!!!) & taifun RDA are in my postbox this morning. Gonna have fun playing with coils now :D

I only had 2 weeks in hospital when I broke my ankle 18months ago - but I can relate to your Dad's experience. I couldn't concentrate on anything except cryptic crosswords - and considering the pain meds I was on, I have no idea how I was able to do them ;)

Normally I'm happy as a kid in a sandbox reading thrillers, I could happily read all day - but just couldn't focus enough to read in hospital. So my only tip is find something to keep your Dad distracted and entertained. If he likes crosswords - get some crossword compilation magazines, or maybe a sudoku book. Thinking of you - and it's always good to see you in here

There's no right or wrong way for diy - there's only what works the fastest and easiest for you. I measure via a scale - but only because I found volume took me a lot longer. If volume measurement is faster and easier for you - keep the scale purely for cooking, or measuring diamonds ;)

View attachment 830653 YFTK Stratum Zero Mosfet Mod. Can use 22mm & 24mm atties & 18650/20-21700 batteries. 3 clicks on & off. Reverse battery protection. Low voltage cutoff. Extra mosfet. From FT.

It’s a tiny thing & I’m using Sanyo NCR20700A batteries with a clone Dvarw DL rta (which is tall).
Hearts, your Stratum looks really sharp with the Dvarw! I'm still deciding between that and the Cthulhu mod. I like both but only want to get one or the other.

Sounds like the same scale I have. The AWS LB-501 and I really like it for DIY. At first it took me a bit to get comfy doing DIY by weight vs syringes. I was super comfortable with syringes. After time I found it easy, quick and no more cleaning syringes.

We used to watch the Great British Baking show. Every now and then I watch the reruns. They sure do make some nice stuff. Yum!
