Perfect - thank you  I was doing inside legs with the v1. My coil may be a lil high, I'll check that next wicking. Using the winder on the coil master has made anti-clockwise coils and clapton coils an absolute breeze. You and @DeloresRose have my thanks for that tip :thumb:

What method are you using with a winder on the coil master?

Darn! I just went to use my new Dead Rabbit RDA and noticed it has the squonk pin in it. My friend gave me the RDA, and that's all he gave me. No box or spare parts. I don't have a squonk mod and I can't get a drip pin for it tonight. Maybe tomorrow. Is there any way I can just plug the squonk pin and use it for dripping? I'd really like to use my new RDA. Thank you all!

Just stick a toothpick into the squonk hole and break it off. Nothing down there is hot enough to singe wood.

Spydro....How're you doing?

Yes thanks. It came in its box but all that says is ''copyright 2014'' so you were bang on with the year. It would be nice to find out an exact manufacture date or close. Maybe the serial number on the chip can be traced :)

ProVape would have had that information filed away I'd bet. But with them long gone who knows if the company files were saved or where they are. In 2013 and early 2014 I ran the Provari forums with the most knowledgeable Provari customers on ECF daily, but I don't remember any of them having the ability to determine an exact production date of their mods by serial number. Some of them had some detailed specifics about some of them, but AFAIK none of them had put together a comprehensive data base. I have not seen any of those folks on ECF since I came back to it. I also had an 'in' at ProVape, someone who knew more about the company and it's inner works than any of us. We talked often, but he never mentioned having access to that information either.

IOW I knew of no one outside of the company with access to their files or that had a data base like one of mine for another company I can relate. So I doubt you will ever come up with its MFG date.

FWIW, in a couple of other interest specific manufacturers forums I ran for many years I was 'the' Guru of those forums because I had done business with the highlighted company from their birth in he 1960's, owned more of their products than anyone else, had used them longer than anyone else, knew the powers to be there personally, talked to them all the time and attended some trade shows with them.... and I had built a data base of the exact specs of the models they made as they came out from day one and what/when if they were changed over the years... and the serial number ranges a of each model by which quarter of each year they were made. A plant fire destroyed most of the company records in the 1990's, so I had the only surviving complete data base of that company after that up to when I stopped adding to it when the company was sold to a giant (who wanted their manufacturing patents) that I wouldn't do business with. There is another similar company I assembled the most complete data base for as well, but that data base is only a shadow of that other massive one I have.

Or a piece of duct tape. That fixes everything.

Or a tiny wad of gum. Kinda disgusting but if you're the one who chewed it and the one vaping it I don't see that much of a problem.

I know @Heartsdelight has the DL version. Likely some others in the Dvarw thread.
Dvarw MTL RTA by Coppervape (clone)
There is a TON of great info there too.
The Dvarw is super easy to build on and maintain. Piece of cake for you I'm sure.

Thanks for the link. I’ll look through there in the morning.

Long day. Mom was taken to ER again, her oxygen level was dropping. She has a little pneumonia and is on antibiotics but the hospital gave her more IV. Everything else checked out okay, but she was so disoriented.

Get this, the nursing home called me before 911, and asked if I wanted her to go to the hospital or if I’d rather they call hospice. I mean they don’t know my back story - I had to make that decision twice already, once with my mil and then with my husband. That knocked the wind out of me.

So they’re releasing her back to the nursing home, and I’m home and I’m pooped, so I’m hitting the hay.

Get some rest I hope your mom will be ok

I’ll tell you about the Dvarw DL tomorrow. With links to buy if you want the logo. I have 3 & I really enjoy them. It’s a restricted DL.

Nice video Rob. Very cool and thanks. I was like that with my first RDA vape with the "ohhh" and "ahhhh". Awesome!!! :D Are you using it in TC mode with your mod?

Now you gotta get yourself some squonkers. ;) There sure are a ton of excellent current deals we can all point you towards. Many of us purchased the recent ones posted. Be warned, once you start down the squonking hole ... it gets deep quick.

I'm sorry to hear about your Mom. I hope she gets better and soon. And sorry to hear about you getting the call for decision making and the wind being knocked out of you. I'm certain that stung. I hope you get a great nights sleep with the bestest of dreams.

@DeloresRose there is also the Hussar Project X which is a restricted DL too. I love it. For an RTA it is very much like an RDA for flavor. More so than many RTA's I have. Easy to build on and maintain too.

RTA: https://www.fasttech.com/products/3042/10058239/9678554

FT sells a 4ml tank extension for it too.
https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10058765/9684609-coppervape-replacement-316-stainless-steel-pei

And for much more info: Hussar Project X RTA Clone (by Coppervape)

@Heartsdelight and @AngeNZ have them too.

Man, I had a pretty crazy day but it was mostly good though. I am so caught up with my notes, I can't believe it. This was AFTER talking to the IT guy about my (hour long, so pretty deep I guess) knowledge of Dragon and would it suffice as far as compared to actual people who you dictate your notes to, they type them, and you sign them (many dollars.)

I kind of explained to the guy that I had peripheral neuropathy in my fingers, and so that made me HIGHLY motivated to make Dragon do all it could, what more it could do for more money, the fact that the newest Dragon is so easy to use that mid to low range computer users would have to be taught how to dictate and it is a skill and not always an easy one. I told him probably about 25% of users would not be motivated to use it, and probably might not be ABLE to (dictation is a hard earned skill) and they certainly wouldn't remember the billion and one commands and etc. I told him there would have to be Dragon superusers who could help and he was like, "I guess that's you," and I was like, no stick that training guy Steve on this he is SUPER good at computers and smart, I will teach him, he will educate me in return for what I DON'T already know, and then he can teach classes as part of his University. I would teach a dictation class as I happen to be good at me." He asked if it affected my workflow 50% and I was like, um, IT guy I am on week one and only now beginning to set up my superphrases and special words and those all take working memory but even now I am probably at 1/3 less and it pays for itself because when I am done, I see more patients, because I am not overwhelmed by notes. I expect it to go down to 1/4 or less if I get more functionality.

Then I offered to show him and he was all into and I was like, well... He was like but 'I'm chained to my desk" and I was like UM and he was like "Literally I have a broken ankle and crutches" and I was like "If you are in Sierra Vista I will come one day, I don't mind I'm sure my supervisor won't."

Anyway he is all enthused and whatever, and like, I was like, okay then. I explained my biggest issue with dictation services is that I feel, like a responsibility to my notes which is why I was dying without dragon, because I DON'T want someone typing for me, and I want to have "Total control" over my notes as they are 95% of what you get judged on. I also said some people would feel that way, some people would be "NO DICATION FOR me," and some would be in the middle.

But it is also INFINITELY cheaper and if you are good enough at it, it's no LESS FAST than talking to someone who is typing your notes, and in some ways quicker.

I got home. Storm. No Jaq B. No notification. I was here, there was a storm it was supposed to arrive by 6:30 no van.

I bet if I call and complain they say it blew away in the storm, I call BS on that one.

I also had a yogawakening because I cannot SAY how much I hate 6 am yoga. Lunch won't work. So, I was like, well, since you didn't THIS MORNING just try tonight, see how it works. If it works, you can DO That and like sleep in an extra hour or MORE in the mornings.

Apart from this brief 10 minute period when my body was like OMG what are you doing I NEED FOOD (which will be fine after my new schedule) it went GREAT.

I am all endorphiny now. Food will have to wait another half hour or so. But I am not stressed, as like, tomorrow I can get up at 6:15 instead of the dread hour of FIVE am where no one should be awake (if you ask me) and this should all go much better and I won't be rushed.

So, I guess the Jaq will arrive.... At some point.

Anna

What method are you using with a winder on the coil master?

Just simple coil wrapping. I'd always just used the 2.5mm id rod in the coil master holder, and hand wrapped the wire around the rod. All good til I started using mtl clapton wire and it kept twisting and kinking. I started a thread about it, and got the perfect solution of actually using the winder that comes with the coil master jig. Perfect claptons now ;)
