It's been a while. I haven't got any new shiny stuff in quite a while, and hardly use all the new stuff I bought in the last year. I thought I drop in and post a couple of pics of the babies though:

And?!?
Were we wrong telling you to get it??:pop:

I haven't had a chance to vape it yet, I have to clean the bottle still..

But I love it thus far.. it seems a bit more difficult to take apart to clean, but so easy to fill! That's a wonder in and of itself! Such a positive aspect!

But yep.. I'm sure being regulated it's just going to be a dream.. If I had the cash I'd buy another one right now! and I haven't even vaped it yet.. lol

So no.. you're definitely not wrong!

Here's to the power of women!!!. I recently entered into a contract to buy a home. One piece of a glass wall of the shower was bowed and not fitting right. I asked to have it changed. I came up against a construction superintendent that felt he could bully me. Kept telling me nothing was wrong and that it was not unusual for the seam to not be flush. They expected me to close if they caulked it! I was then bullied by the sales associate on the builders side. Told I had to close on time or else $250 a day would be charged. I spent a week doing research learning about the process of tempering glass. I also presented a letter from my DR that this was causing me stress. My daughter helped me fight them. I refused to give them any more money and fought this with my daughter being the mouthpiece. (she is a shark in training and doing great)The president of this company came to take a look, determined the glass was bad and they are replacing it and will not expect me to close until it is done. I cannot tell you how many people told me if I fought this I would not win. My daughter and I did this ourselves just by being savvy consumers. (the men in our lives told us to just close and then figure it out OR listen to the bullying superintendent and that nothing was probably wrong with it anyway). In ways this explains to me why I am single.

Congratulations! Just another case of a woman being bullied by “experts”. Glad you also had your daughter to help advocate for you.

I shudder to think how many women would’ve been intimidated enough to just go ahead and close on the house.

You’re my hero!!!!!

3 yrs later and I still cry about my mom at least once a week. My mom was always there for a "pull yourself up by the bootstraps and stop feeling sorry for yourself" kind of talk. My mom came from a poor women, dirt floor in rural Nebraska, who abandoned my mom and only my mom when she was five. She kept her other kids (2 girls and a boy ages 2-6) my mom was raised by an aunt that used her for slave labor in a restaurant she owned. My mom never came to terms with being abandoned. She left Nebraska at age 18, went to California, became an xray technician and died with a paid off house in Burbank. The rest of her family dwindled away in poverty. My mom believed in the power of a woman and hard work. I miss her talks to me. She hated Republicans and she was a feminist long before it was cool to be one.

If there is an afterlife, I’d bet my mom finds your mom and they’re best friends. My mom raised six kids on her own after my dad died. Tough as nails.

Ours was the house where all the kids would hang out, the ones who weren’t welcome anywhere else. The hippies. The not-White not-Catholic kids.

My friend’s mother confronted my mom one day, saying her daughter wouldn’t be allowed to come over as long as certain other people were going to be there. And my mom said, that’s too bad... your daughter is a nice kid. But so are these kids. And I don’t jump when you say jump.

She was fearless.

It’s gorgeous! I’ll hold off until I see how well I’m eating once the truck payments start rolling in.

the stupid guy, while trying to bully me, actually said "I have found other houses in the subdivision that had the same problem with the seam not matching up and these people paid" I was aghast. I said " all you have told me with that statement is that you bullied others into buying houses with faulty material"
Yeah, he pretty much hates me. I do not know how I am ever supposed to trust him and so many things are under warranty and he is the guy to call.
I think they just expect people to take their nonsense and just pay. My original inspector, the one they would not let me use because he did not have the right "credentials", told me it happens all the time and once the builder gets something called a OOC (order of occupancy) from the code officer that they consider the house done and no matter what my "proper credentialed guy" found wrong, they will not fix it and just keep saying we have the OCC and you have to close. My proper credentialed guy cost $750 and he found the glass problem and put it in a report that was submitted to them two weeks ago.. I have been in a state of shock for two weeks because I am being told I have to pay even if I have proof that something was found wrong. "you signed a contract and we want our money or you have to pay $250 a day"
Good luck getting me to pay $250 a day or even a cent more was all I could say.
I was risking losing 5k but that seemed easier to swallow then paying $295K more and feeling ripped off. I stood my ground. It worked.

I remodel houses for a living. If you are not happy with the quality of the work that was done, definitely stick to your guns and demand replacement or repair. I see so much work that is done incorrectly it makes me sick. Also pay attention to any drywall that is bowed, especially in the ceiling, and specifically in garage areas. It might seem ridiculous (I think it is) but it's an unfortunately common thing to see bad framing (missing 2x4's) in these areas, particularly in homes built from the 70's to 2010. Might be worth the price of a responsible and reputable home inspector not recommended by the real estate agent. Just IMO of course.
