Good proper morning shinies :)

I have a Dot aio coming. I also bought some panels and the rba. It's becoming a really respected device :)

It's modelled on the BB principle and is extremely well made.... £132.81 for the kit and extras. The kit only is £62. Hopefully it won't take long to reach 'la belle France'.

Have a great day everyone

Pretty sure snow melts at 80* :(. I’m jealous. It’s a beautiful, silent, pristine sight to look across the landscape first thing in the morning after a snowfall.... or to watch fat snowflakes falling in the moonlight. Of course I’ve wiped from my memory the grungy, plowed to the roadside, won’t melt stuff that comes later lol. But, I do miss snow.

It’s pretty when the fresh snow is glistening on the branches and the fields, but I hate driving in it. Everyone forgets how to drive. I’m just glad I can usually stay home until the roads are clear. And I’ll make use of that AWD this year, it has to be better than sliding around in that pickup.

What charger are you guys using for your high capacity 21700s? I asked before and wanted to buy but forgot.

Charging 4000mah batteries at 0.375A is getting lame.

Could it be this one? 4.1A charging

Edit: In my insomnia I think I’ve decided on the Folomov A4. @Ryedan she still going strong?

I have an xtar sv2 but I don’t think it’s 4A. I think it’s 2-ish. I think it’s about 1.5 years old. It’s a bit slow on the 21700s but I usually get all my batteries recharged in the morning, and I’m home all day so it’s not a big bother.

Thanks for the reply’s . It’s not a wicking problem it’s just seems like cold batteries. They work fine when indoors and warmed up it’s just after being outside for a while or being in my cup holder for a while when I start to get problems . This will be my first winter with my jackaroo for work so far it never said protection instead of firing but I’m noticing it not hitting quite as hard. I never used to like keeping it in my pockets too much because my Rda would leak but now I have two RTAs I use at work so I could keep it in my pockets without worrying about leakage. Right now I’m wearing a pull over hoodie with the big pocket in front of my stomach like a kangaroo lol I always worry it will fall out when hopping off machines or climbing. Jean pockets seems like broken glass waiting to happen too.

Usually I’ll wear my rain jacket over my hoodie when it gets cold and windy and it has pockets at the chest where it stays safe but even there it gets super cold. Mabye I need a thick jacket that has pockets inside then I can put my rain jacket over that.

In TV production it is commonplace to keep battery packs in an inside pocket in very cold weather, then pull them out to use them as needed. Wasn't possible in my early days as the film camera battery packs were huge.

The first time I was camera op in very extreme conditions, about -32C iirc, I put a spare pack ( terminals taped!) down my underwear right next to my personal kit ;) Worked well, but I never lived it down.

Constant shouts of "show us your kit!", "what a bulge!" got a bit wearing after the first day.

You can buy thermally insulated battery pack bags now that contain a "hot-pack" heated in a microwave, thank goodness.

I am not advising anyone to put cells down their underwear. You do so at your own risk.

@dom qp I have the Xstar vc4s. It gives you 3 amps for a single slot so no slouch but obviously dual will be 2 amp and so on..... Good charger as far as I can see as its still in the box.
He separate 4amp. You need to buy the separate USB charger for it. I got a generic one....

    Good luck Dom

    This is XTAR’s newest release.
    https://www.amazon.com/ALLMAYBE-Dua...qid=1570791828&sprefix=XTAR+pb,aps,136&sr=8-2

It charges at a max of 2A I love it as it’s also a portable powerbank.
@XTAR-Justin has posts on here showcasing it.

Good morning shiners! Have some batteries arriving but otherwise all quiet on the mailing front.

It's amazing how everyone forgets how to drive in snow during those first and second snowfalls. Remember, AWD in snow is great for getting you moving on a bad surface, but of no help stopping. It's great to have so long as you maintain reasonable expectations.

I am such a cautious driver it’s almost embarrassing. I’ve never driven anything that was good in bad weather though, so I had to learn the limitations of some of the least snow-worthy vehicles.

I’m not going to goof with it right now, but my Topside dual just stopped reading one of the batteries. Has anyone else had any problems with it? The contacts look good, but I guess it wouldn’t hurt to clean them. I’ve tried four pairs of batteries, but that A side is showing 0%

I bookmarked those. I’ll try to remember to grab some tomorrow.

I went hunting for something in my stash today and realized I have 2 amazon boxes full of gear. That’s just what’s not in rotation. Good grief.
Yes I know. I am packing to leave this house and move into the new house I bought and the boxes of gear has expanded from the 3 I brought with me to 4. I really need to purge. I have all these brand new Subtank Mini's and a case of Ni coils. Tons of old skool stuff. I wish I knew where I could send it and to be of use to someone.
If anybody has any ideas? I also have 3-4 new Innokin iSubs and coils for those. The list goes on and on...Smok tanks and coils for them

I’m not purging yet. I figure, if vapes get hard to come by, I should be able to find people in need pretty easily. If not irl, then here. I don’t have a lot I wouldn’t want to keep though. I was good about only buying one of this and one of that to try, and only multiples of things I really enjoy.

NO I am the Louis Vuitton girl saving for a Chanel bag (but never getting there because I buy too much LV)
Then I have nooooo idea who it was. You’re the only other purse lover that came to mind. I love my Chanels, but honestly LV is a better value since you can use and love them for years. Maybe it’s because mine are the quilted, but they require kid glove treatment where LV doesn’t (I don’t mean abuse, just regular use of course)

I thank god my roommate was there when it happened. She’s been awesome. I have one older sister from northern New Jersey who’s here now to help care for me then a friend is going to be with me for another week or so. Well that’s the plan anyways.

I got discharged today although I’m thinking that they were right about waiting another day. It’s been a very tough night. I’ve got 3 long pins holding the femoral head in place and can’t put more than 1/3 of my weight so I’m using a walker. I feel totally helpless. Everything is a huge chore. Fortunately I qualify for Home Health Services so a visiting nurse will be coming by and physical therapy as well for the next 2 weeks.

It’ll heal. It could be worse but it’s been a bit discouraging especially after what I just went through with Levi.

thanks for the sweet thoughts and I hope you’re enjoying all your toys.

just an FYI- the surgeon asked if I smoked and I said no but that I vape. She said to stop vaping anything with nicotine in it for the next month because it a vasoconstrictor as we know and it delays healing. I had quite a bite of blood loss and am anemic now.
Of course I HAD to have a vape when I got home but tomorrow I’ll have my sister get some vg,pg and flavors out so I can make a couple of zero nic juice for the next month.

just thought that was interesting. No judgment she was just being practical about the healing.

well I hope everyone is well. Tomorrow I’ll spend some time catching up on some of my favorite threads!!

    good night :)
They told me the exact same thing in August when I was hospitalized with a stroke. Of course, I vaped in the hospital, sort of discreetly. When I was being discharged the head nurse told me everyone knew I was vaping.
    Sort of funny story:
On the second night in the hospital the DR took away my Naprosyn and did not tell me. I have horrible neuropathy pain in my feet and toes and take Naprosyn, prescribed by my BIL, a DR. I know all my DR's are against it but darnit, I refuse any pain meds, will not go the Gabapentin way, just give me my Naprosyn. Well, when evening came and they refused to give it to me, just saying "the DR took it off your list, so sorry, we cannot give it to" I was livid. The burning in my toes was setting in and I was grouchy. I demanded it. They said NO. I went on strike. I refused to take all other meds, then I refused to let them take my vitals. I was sitting in the chair by the window, brewing, trying to decide if I should just get dressed and go home where I had a boatload of Naprosyn of my own, when the head nurse came in, an older male. He tried to reason with me, I was not having it. He tried to take my vitals, again not having it. I was in full temper tantrum mode. I told him he needed to just leave the room, that I was about to get dressed and go home. I moved my hand and my mod, (hidden in the folds of the huge gown they gave me) sort of flailed to the floor, the back door came off and only the bright green batteries, with a red X on them (rewraps) were visible. The room was semi dark but the bathroom light was on and you could see it. He looked at me, looked back at the mod on the floor, his head never turning. eyes going back and forth from me to the mod he put his hands up and backed out of the room. If I had not been in such pain I would have been hysterically laughing because I knew he thought it was a bomb or some sort of weapon. Luckily my daughter arrived (I had called her to pick me telling her I wanted to split and would take a cab if she did not come get me) she calmed the whole situation down. She talked with the head nurse, who left early that night. I got my Naprosyn and all was well. They released me a day early. This is not the first time I have made an a__ out of myself in the hospital. I do not like being told what to do.

Up here, winter tires are a life saver. I'll be putting mine on around the first of November. I have AWD, and I laugh when people tell me I don't need to bother with winter tires because the 4WD trucks are always the first to slide off the road in winter. They get cocky. The combination of AWD + studded tires is excellent though. I've never had a problem driving, sans visibility issues for which there is no preparation.

I hate cold and snow. So much. I live in the wrong part of the country
