I live about an hour north of you and have a hibiscus my son picked out for my wife when he was six. I've been dragging it into the house every year so it survives - she's a sentimental soul. As the pot gets bigger and my back gets creakier it's getting tougher. Eighteen winters so far!

Now that’s love! I had a tropical hibiscus tree that I had to drag in and out. It died when I left it in the care of my daughter when I was out of town a couple weeks.

Now, I grow hardy hibiscus. Hard to find, and expensive. But I’ve learned to sprout them from seed. So far, I’ve grown two from seed. My first was 5’ tall this year!

I hire a professional gardener to weed for me and she said she doesn’t know anyone else who grows those from seed. I do well with the weird plants. Can’t seem to grow a mum to save my life though.

I built my little foot. It's fine. it's also SMALL. Heats up fast. Very flavorful. Don't try a raised coil on this one. It tastes good. It may be leaking I cannot quite tell. Flavor is good but I put a good juice in there. Consensus by me: I think you can do a lot better although the flavor is good. And it's cute. But it is Not All That and a Sandwich.

Safe travels!!! :)

3 legs, 11 hours ... yikes. Did you guys book your own arrangements?

When I traveled for work I always booked my own flights, hotels, cars/limos etc.. I learned my lesson the hard way. The people at big corporations making arrangements for others simply don't care if you stay in a crappy hotel and have to take 6 flights to get somewhere. I figured if it's for work my arrangements should all be 5 star hotels, or better, and in 1st class on flights (my boss agreed). I was on the road a lot for nearly three decades.
The conference did awesome this time...The hotel is beyond lovely, 5 stars, impeccable service. Flights here (one change) no problem. Return trip was an issue finding flights with open seats. Or with doable layovers to get to the next gate. And Himself has to get back tomorrow. Usually from the Northwest we connect in Salt Lake City, then straight home. I have a couple books downloaded or I can watch the onboard tv stuff so it shouldn’t be too bad.

Nice boss. I only could justify business/first class for coast to coast or international. Otherwise it's tough to be rested when you arrive and want to be functional. Everywhere else though just squish in and deal with it.

I was a bad boss.
My boss was a good guy who felt we were inconvenienced by so much travel and disruption to a normal-ish kind of life. When I first started he told me "you have three options for getting to/from the airport" which was O'hare. We were living near there back then. I could take my car and get mileage, take a cab or take a limo. Well twist my arm, limo was everyone's choice. I was told they were cheaper than a cab. I mean I was 20 at the time and couldn't believe I was getting paid to travel all over. Too funny. I will always be grateful to have seen so much on the company dime. They even paid every now and then for my wife to go if I was to be gone for 2+ weeks. Very nice. Pre 9/11 was fine, post ... argh PIA with all my gear.

I was so excited about my tree - that’s how old I am, I swoon over a hard-to-source filbert - I forgot to mention I will be getting my Lustro and Galatek to review. They did ask me for $15 for shipping. High, yes. However, I look at it this way, I’m getting a Lustro for $15 and an hour or two to write up a little something. They had no requirements or even requests for what info or visuals to include, so that’s a pretty easy one compared to some I used to do, and the pay is better. I chose the lime green. In hindsight I should have asked if I could pick a Kodama but I doubt they’d have gone for that. :D

It's a win win situation for you and them

I am reading fluff books off of Amazon kindle... illiterate applies to some of those authors. It takes all my willpower not to aggressively edit some of them and send it back to the “author”

Nonsense, breezy read book requiring little thought, that just serves to mildly entertain. Some people call them “beach reads”. I’m not a “good” flyer, so something to distract me and not require more brain cells than the valium leaves functioning . I usually pick a female detective book with about as much substance as a Jessica Fletcher show.

I love detective novels - the gory, psychological and gripping kind. Finished reading Rob Ashman a few weeks ago - literally could not put his books down

Thanks, Letitia. Yeah, it was a bad one. All the airbags released. If I'm repeating myself please excuse, my brain is still in shock, I think.

Here's the other car. She never even applied her brakes. If it wasn't for the brick wall I think she would have went through that woman's window. The homeowner was outside when it happened and was a good witness for me.

God, you must've been terrified. If not during, when I imagine everything was a blurred confusion, then possibly before and certainly afterward. I'm so glad you're all right.

@ShowMeTwice what are your Squeeze 2 arctic fox settings? I'm still tweaking mine, and I doubt I have the PI regulator stuff with the correct values.

    No rush

    Here's mine:

    Coil: ss316l 0.27*0.68 flat wire @ 0.25ohm
Power: 20w (usually 18w in wattage mode)
    Preheat time: 1sec
    Mode: Temp control
    Coil Material: TCR 105
    Temperature: 380F

    Temp control setup:
    PI Regulator: enabled
    Range: 0%
    P value: 500
    I value: 300
