And after the advice this morning, I investigated all this very scientifically with a BBQ skewer
I would like to have seen the video of your scientific process and especially the BBQ skewer bit. ;)
Have you tried mini sausages yet? Rumor has it sausages done over an rda are really good.

Yep, huge difference. Nearly gone through another squonk bottle today with it

And just when I thought I was nearly done with rda buying, I saw this:
$17.90 SXK Hussar 2.0 Styled RDA Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer - 316 stainless steel / 22mm diameter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

but i think I might go for the Ulton version you have coming:
ULTON Hussar II Style 316SS 22mm RDA w/BF Pin/24mm Beauty Ring - Silver
Yes, I can't wait to get that lil bugger too. And of course they're holding up my S[even] for the Hussar II.
Argh! Oh well, I am very patient with "all that". But if they got here like yesterday ...

@NolaMel ... Mel, try this page. There are several build photo's, good tips and info.

You need to unscrew the bell so your wick is visible (see photo on page).

http://www.levapelier.com/en/vapor-giant-mini-v2-by-vapor-giant-vapor-niko/?cn-reloaded=1

To me it looks very very similar to building the old Kayfun lite or KFL+. Your VG Mini looks like either a v1 or v2. A 0.8 ohm coil is fine.

Yep, it's similar to the Lemo too.

The bell, like the Lemo or KFL, doesn't need juice holes. In the VG Mini juice is fed to the wick through the wick cutouts.

Let me know ... :)
My hero . It was compared to the KFL in a thread on reddit. Can you tell Im running on fumes this week ? It never occurred to me not to screw the bell down all the way since it extends into the chimney. I guess that explains the leaning tower of pisa dt it came with. I’ll rewick and revisit it tomorrow. Ty for coming to my rescue!

Well, given how chummy age is with her new friend, hopefully by the time you get her home you won’t have a surprise of a family of newborn bunnies to take care of.

Glad to hear you’re better. Those new all connected panels are great, and now with WiFi to stream from too you have a choice of over 3,000 channels to choose from, none of which have anything you want playing on them. Welcome to 2019. :D

That would be awesome !

I do like that chubby grey one. I was wrong before that’s not one that picks on her. It’s these other two skinnier grey ones that take her food and chase her away when she’s eating. I’d like to bring the chubby grey one home too. Haven’t seen the baby in a few days. Hope ol goldie is okay .

I received my Apollo DNA-75 mod late this afternoon. It's very nice and their packaging is top shelf (leather case, SS beauty ring and matching DT). One problem, it has a couple nasty cracks in the acrylic.

I called Apollo and they are having me skip the whole process of returning it (RMA and all that rigmarole) and are sending a new one out today via Priority Mail. After they saw my photo's they felt it was cracked before it left their factory in CA. Plus the packaging was fine so we figured it had nothing to do with the USPS. They were very very apologetic. Good people.

They don't want the cracked one back. I will try repairing this one. The mod works, so that's nice.

Apollo is an excellent company to deal with, great customer service and they stand by their products. :thumb:

ive never heard of Apollo mods. Can you post a pic of it?

I can't even imagine vaping a .5 build at 160w. Maybe 70w if it was a dual.

yeah my eyes popped out of my head when I read that!! Even 60watts at .5 would be too hot to get near the drip tip for me lol!!

I have to say i'm enjoying this Tauren X RBA now. It has a rather large top cap (for a pod...12mm) that produces good flavor.
20191206_131715.jpg

Didn't come easy though, as we have a history together. I almost threw it away at one stage...It had the nasty habit of leaking out the air hole, and I couldn't figure out why.
Well before that, I had to drill out the wick holes, as it didn't go well with 70VG.
I had the mesh pod and coils ordered from 3F, and that's when I tried something again. I stuffed a piece of cotton between the tails (filling the complete juice chamber) and it stopped its leaking. I cancelled the mesh setup and got a refund.
Now we are great friends and I carry it every where when I go out. Only problem is the 2ml tank don't last long. Flavor like I said is pretty good.
I'm highly exited about the Aegis boost RBA coming out mid December. That will be huge step up....3.7ml and looks like a bigger top cap. All the reviewers are pretty psyched about it.

Well I suppose it depends on the wire your using. Thick wire With many wraps wouldn’t heat up as quick. Kind of like when using a series mech. I use a 0.28 build in my stacked mech which comes to around 250 watts. If I was using thin wire it wouldn’t be so good. Way too hot.

Still that seems too much. Using that high a wattage on a regulated mod like that.

I was skeptical at first also. I don't know what the mechanics are on this RDA, but at 160 watts, it's still a cool vape. I shut the airflow about half way to get it a little warmer. The flavor and amount of cloud is phenomenal. You only get four or five draws per drip. Probably only use it here at my desk, or at the vape shop, with my vape friends.

My Profile Unity RTA is 0.12 ohm, but I vape it at 60 watts. My Serpent Elevate RTA is 0.39 ohm. I vape it 35 watts. I guess I still don't fully understand the relationship between ohm/resistance and wattage/power. I just assumed the less resistance, the higher wattage. Doesn't seem to consistently be the case though. How do the laws of physics apply here?

The mesh coils don’t need much wattage to heat up. The unity mesh coils are only rated for 60-70 watts. Some use 80 to 90 with quick draws but anything higher is getting hot. Watch how quick they heat up when dry burning at only 20 watts.

So ohms isn’t always a way to tell what wattage you should be at. Say I put my .12 ohm mesh profile on my single battery mech. It would get way too hot and be an angry vape burning my lips. But Usually I vape 0.1 ohm using wire on my single battery mech and it’s jist fine. With a mech it’s still pushing 4.2 volts through whether it likes it or not. So I use my mesh with regulated mods. Except if I’m using a mech with a large voltage drop that’s not as powerful. Then I can get away with it.

It’s all about the wire type in my opinion. Thickness metal type etc.

I would have done the same and on the way back would have LMFAO too. I wish I could have seen their faces. I'm certain they were priceless. We are who we are … so might as well embrace all of it.

Well done bud!!! :thumb:
Ha thanks. I still smiled while finishing up and taking the license plates off with the guy haha

@ShowMeTwice .... ty for the link to the article. This is definitely v1, as it doesn’t have the fill ports under the cap. She’s working fine now! Glad you found that mega sale on mechs. Mod +tank for $40, the original price of the tank alone was “High end (from 71 to 100 euros)” according to the article . Winner, winner ;)

At 6.52 volts and .51ohms it's only 83 watts. Just because it says 160 watts doesn't necessarily mean that's what it's putting out.

Glad you got your VG Mini going and like it. :thumb: I remember the Vapor Giant gear was popular some years back. They made quality H.E. gear. I received my order today but didn't start using anything yet. However I did pull out the Van & Del Designs Soul S RDA to have a look/see. I need to get it going with a squonker tomorrow. The mechs I ordered are very nice. I'm a very happy camper too!!! ;)

So how is the vape with the VG Mini?
KFL like?
And the flavor?

I need some help with this vapor giant mini tank.... I’m getting intermittent dry hits. Closest other tank I can compare it to is the lemo v2. The bell has no visible holes for juice to get to the wick/coil. I had to drain the tank to look at it. Have a simple single contact coil at 0.8 wicked with rayon. What am I missing here??? It’s driving me crazy because I know it’s something simple. EDIT: wick at coil is dry, very bottom of tails are moist. I had 50/50ish in there View attachment 856381View attachment 856383
My guess is you've accidentally got the juice flow control closed down. I don't know the RDA but it may be one of those where you twist the top cap to lift the bell chamber up a bit.

Have a close look and see if you've got some channels somewhere around the base of the chamber.

Hope this helps but hope someone with actual experience of the RDA can chip in :)
