I don't like bridges OR tunnels. When I drive over a bridge I am pretty sure it's going to collapse. I also don't like the way they move and vibrate although I know why thanks to the engineer husband who ALSO showed me many videos of like, bridge failure.
It was hard getting over, I had to mentally rehearse dying from a bridge collapse and like, it took a long time but now I am tranquil. I am like, "If I die on this bridge, I am prepared."
We have a small tunnel in Bisbee and I have been in AZ long enough (no tunnels) that I actually sort of enjoy it. Although, based on Arizona's road maintenance, I have to mentally rehearse dying in a tunnel a lot. Because frankly, it is a very real possibility.
There's this great book I think it might be called :"Traffic?" it's by this English journalist and she gets all into driver behavior and why people do what they do and why it makes NO
sense. Like, people merge BEFORE they have to when it is more time effective to use both lanes until the bitter end, and politely merge taking turns. I think about it EVERY time I get the dirty honks and looks for driving up to the merge area. I think, "I am saving YOU TIME you idiots. The road is THERE,. USE IT."
She is also English and calls stuff like traffic circles "road furniture." It's a good red. I recommend it.
