Folks hate to say we seem to have lost touch with the purpose of this forum/thread.
It is to celebrate our love of vaping and help other. I have been vaping for quite a long time and still learn stuff frequently here.

Everyone has an opinion, if i dont agree with someone i may mention it to discuss. Otherwise just passover it, blocking people should not be needed for most everyone here. There is a pretty good chance the person you block may have the answer to a problem you have.

The thing about a forum is each person can read it differently because there is no inflection.

With everything going on in the world please support each other.

THERE ARE MUCH WORSE THINGS THAN DIFFERING OPINIONS.

I digress and dont like to see family fighting.

In the mean time here is a vid about the way alot of the world is nowadays lol.
Hopefully we get a chuckle.

And i will preface this saying it isnt about us and not to offend anyone.

We have had a rough time here lately and forgiveness is key!

Sorry for the rant classwife.

:(

i'd say people, especially at the moment, want a nice environment to chat, share and stay shiny. not saying we have to agree on everything...of course not...but for the last wee while some of it has just been a bit much (for me personally) and the escalations wearying . it's the internet...i know...it just doesn't feel like the haven it did and can be.
red x...PM...whatever.

Will any kind of cotton fabric work? Middle princess sews and left piles upstairs

I’m still trying to figure it all out. This instance there’s far too much info out there. I’m really not sure who to believe.

Personally I think 100% cotton would be most breathable, could be washed hot enough to sanitize. I’m not sure if there are different/closer thread counts or what.

I’m going to call the quilt shop and ask Monday when they open. I can do a curbside pickup there.

And honestly, nobody not one soul here is wearing a mask. Not one. I agree that even a handmade one might protect others from the person who wears it, but likely not 100%, and close to zero protection for the wearer. I still think it’s more psychological than anything. But I could be wrong, and it won’t hurt, so what the heck...

Everyone, please...Deep breaths/whiskey/playing the kazoo/rolling in the grass neked... whatever relaxes and makes you happy... please go do it for a few. No judgment on what you pick. I need Shiny Helllllllp. And I can’t get it if y’all are y’all yanked wrong and worked up.

Reliable BB clone? Dotsquonk? Clutch (if I could only find one stateside). Or, just sit on my $$$ and hope atmizoo finally gets another batch of dotshells out???

If it has to be 100% cotton, I have a super high thread count(over 100), heavy/thick white bottom sheet that the elastic has gone bad on. I can bleach and send it to you if you want. I have no idea what the fanbric vontent is on what she has upstairs. Probably cotton or cotton/poly blend

If you buy a BB clone I wouldn't choose the SXK 75W version. The board reads resistance un-reliably (I own one). The SXK 60W version has the evolv DNA 60 board but unlike the authentic BB it has a usb port so you can use escribe.
The finish on both the 75W and the 60W clones are identical and neither one comes very close to the smoothness of the authentic. The G10 doors on the clones are much coarser (you can buy any number of 3rd party doors) and the finish of the aluminum body not as fine.
The SXK 60W clone has many devotees but if you can afford it (and don't care about escribe) I'd definitely reccomend an authentic.

I have always found this thread to be a sanctuary from the negativity and drama that is all too common other places in this forum and all over the web. My facebook has become a cacophony of political arguments conspiracy theories and drama. I am saddened to see drama becoming increasingly common here now as well. I think it is time to take a break from all social media for a while.
This is an incredibly stressful time for everybody on the planet. What we are facing doesn't discriminate. It doesn t care where you are, your race, economic status, or political affiliation. We are ALL in this together. My hope is that through all of this, people might realize that we have more similarities than differences. I know it's a long shot but maybe people can put those differences aside and work together for once. I must say though, it doesn't look too promising.
Anyways I am gonna tackle some projects that I have been putting off for too long. If anybody wants to talk PM me and I will get a notification and get back to ya. Take care for now everybody. Love you all.

I don’t update/escribe/tc. Heretic, I know . But a usb would be nice for emergency charges. Ty for the direction. I’m having trouble wrapping my head around it all

You beat me to it. Went to college in part at Oxford (England, not Mississippi ;)) and ate plenty curries while I was there. Oddly, we had a red curry dish for dinner last night. Himself’s reflux was not as pleased as his palate sadly.

Back to Shiny Important Things!!!! Himself couldn’t sleep (reflux/stress/midnight phone calls). So I decided instead of a dotsquonk I would just get the dovpo clutch I had mooned over. Can’t find one not in China. My google-fu is not strong at 3 am, so if you have any ideas on where to find one? Considered a BB, but thought dropping that much money should be a decision made after coffee in the light of day. I have come to my senses thankfully, but would consider a clone if there wasn’t so much conflicting info about good vs bad ones.
Mel....as long as you make sure you go for the sxk DNA 60 you'll be fine unless you're really really unlucky....they generally are really well built.

Go on you know you want one :D

Ps. Is it me or have I said really too many times

If you’re asking me??? I use that recipe often (it’s weight watchers friendly). You can make dinner or cinnamon rolls, pretzels, naan/pocketless pita.... just lots of variations. Himself and the youngest like it (my toughest critics). It’s a bit tough to work with as it’s a VERY wet dough.
I love my wet dough's...often make the best breads imo. I make our own pizza dough often....it's always better than anything you can buy.... although I do say so myself :)

And just to reaffirm don't touch the 70 watt BB...only the DNA 60

There is protection value in them especially if everyone has got one on because it definitely stops an infected person from spreading their droplets so great for all those asymptomatic carriers out there

My mum said something about making some. The pattern was given to her by a friend. She said that it had to be done with cotton and that there were several layers. Great that you can wash and re-use too.

just finished rolling in the grass in my PJs :D

I'd go for either the dna60 BB clone or a dotsquonk 100w. But first I'd figure out what I'd get the most use from - and what can be changed/altered/shinyed etc. That would be the BB, as there's always going to be new rbas/panels to try with it. Luna says good morning BTW

    (Apologies if this is off-topic)

A two layer decently tight cotton should do a fair job for a mask. Some pillowcases come in a little bag of the same material. A piece of cord attached along the top and bottom edges (something like 1/8" diamond weave paracord is nice). A couple of little spring cordlocks makes it fairly easy to loosen or tighten the cords.

Two layers is important, with 3 even better though a bit more work to fabricate.

The idea is that when you sneeze/cough/talk/... the not-perfectly-aligned layers of material are stopping any water droplets being expelled outward, and at the very least decreasing their range (energy lost "bouncing" to escape the mask).

These are protecting others, not you. Stuff coming out of your mouth or nose is trying to go forward, through the mask. The mask will help against incoming only from straight ahead, but doesn't block things coming in from the sides.

Cotton with nylon paracord is very much washable. The cordlocks should also handle washing okay.

Thank you much! I contacted my quilt lady through Facebook. She says quilt cotton is what most are buying. I think she said it was 280 thread count. So dense, but not so thick ya can’t breathe. Monday she will have some of her sale stuff ready for me. If we gon’ do masks, we gon’ do fancy winter-fabric-on-sale-cuz-out-of season masks lol.

And het, @lupinehorror you stay right here mister.

I’m just not shiny for anything right now for whatever reason. I’m sure it’ll pass. Just a lull.

Let’s don't let a few crabapples ruin this space for all. We’re all edgy. Some just need a hug more than others I think.

Dang it I had that paracord and clip thingies in my cart months ago, never did buy them. Next order, I guess. I can make ties but that does sound a lot easier.
