Still working through my well stocked larder, lol. Tonight is chicken verde enchiladas on a bed of brown rice mixed with corn and black beans. For dessert, a devil’s food sheet cake topped with raspberry glaze (while hot) then iced with an almond buttercream frosting. I was feeling too lazy to make a layer cake lol. Last night was hamburgers with homemade buns (none to be found in the wild)

Lauren Daigle has a killer voice. In some ways, she reminds me a bit of a less “smoky” Norah Jones. Lots of talent coming out of around here!
Give me a stunning sunset over having to get up at the crack of dawn! Wishing I were at Mom’s to see one of these, but at 86, I can’t take the chance of going to see her. Would love to be enjoying the Creek , dripping on my Clutch watching this!!

Your dinner and desert sounds great!!! And those buns, wow. See I would eat the buns warm with no butter, perfecto. Soooo when are you opening the next best restaurant in NOLA??? I would like to make the first reservation, for two please. ;)

For sure, N.O. and LA breeds uber talented musicians. Cajun, Zydeco, blues and jazz plus so much more, yes! And in N.O. the local musicians on the street to those in the clubs in the Quarter. From the Neville's, Dr. John, the whole divinely gifted Marsalis family and so many others.
So bummed about Ellis. :(

That sunset is heavenly. Of course the Creek goes without sayin'. And with ya all raving on about the Clutch I may catch that bug too! It has my Shiny senses tingling. Your Mom is the same age as mine.

Not the torturer will scare me
Nor the body's final fall
Nor the barrels of death's rifles
Nor the shadows on the wall
Nor the night when to the ground
The last dim star of pain, is hurled
But the blind indifference
Of a merciless, unfeeling world

Lying in the burnt out shell
Of some Albanian farm
An old Babushka
Holds a crying baby in her arms
A soldier from the other side
A man of heart and pride
Breaks ranks, lays down his rifle
To kneel by her side

He gives her water
Binds her wounds
And calms the crying child
A touch gives absolution then
Across the great divide
He picks his way back through the broken
China of her life
And there at the curb
The samaritan Serb turns and waves ... goodbye

And each small candle
Lights a corner of the dark
Each small candle
Lights a corner of the dark
Each small candle lights a corner of the dark
When the wheel of pain stops turning
And the branding iron stops burning
When the children can be children
When the desperados weaken
When the tide rolls into greet them
And the natural law of science
Greets the humble and the mighty
And the billion candles burning
Lights the dark side of every human mind

Each small candle
Each small candle [repeated]
Each small candles lights the dark side of every human mind

And each small candle
Lights a corner of the dark

You have a natural tendency
To squeeze off a shot
You're good fun at parties
You wear the right masks
You're old but you still
Like a laugh in the locker room
You can't abide change
You're at home an the range
You opened your suitcase
Behind the old workings
To show off the magnum
You deafened the canyon
A comfort a friend
Only upstaged in the end
By the Uzi machine gun
Does the recoil remind you
Remind you of sex
Old man what the hell you gonna kill next
Old timer who you gonna kill next
I looked over Jordan and what did I see
Saw a U.S. Marine in a pile of debris
I swam in your pools
And lay under your palm trees
I looked in the eyes of the Indian
Who lay on the Federal Building steps
And through the range finder over the hill
I saw the frontline boys popping their pills
Sick of the mess they find
On their desert stage
And the bravery of being out of range
Yeah the question is vexed
Old man what the hell you gonna kill next
Old timer who you gonna kill next
Hey bartender over here
Two more shots
And two more beers
Sir turn up the TV sound
The war has started on the ground
Just love those laser guided bombs
They're really great
For righting wrongs
You hit the target
And win the game
From bars 3,000 miles away
3,000 miles away
We play the game
With the bravery of being out of range
We zap and maim
With the bravery of being out of range
We strafe the train
With the bravery of being out of range
We gained terrain
With the bravery of being out of range
With the bravery of being out of range
We play the game
With the bravery of being out of range

Who else makes their own juice?
I was intimidated to try at first, but it's simple to do, and a lot less costly

I do, but I try to keep it simple, I do a lot of 'one shot' mixes, if I do properly mix, I keep it under 6 flavors, otherwise just turns into a chore for me.

I still buy vendors juice as well though, love my dinner lady lemon tart still :)

I have been doing DIY for about 4 years but sometimes do not mix much. The last time I did, a few weeks ago was the first time in over 6 months, so yes I buy store bought too. Mixing is not something I enjoy much and I get lazy.
