My PayPal Problem has been sorted out
And that means I've spent some more money but it did go to a Very good cause!!

I trimmed the legs flush with the post, so I don't know if that means they are too short or long. I never really thought of leg length being a variable before.

As for wattage, I started at around 10w and I have it at 12w. I am not sure what is causing the popping sound, but I thought maybe it had something to do with my wattage not being right.

The popping sound is because thee cotton is slightly too loose going through the coil. Tighten it up and the popping will disappear

A question for all Shiny PayPal Punters
I'm trying to send some money through PayPal for a pretty purchase.
The money has processed in my PayPal account and taken the funds from my bank but it won't send the money through to the person I'm buying from to pay for the goods.
It says Pending on my Statement.
Has anyone had something similar happen?

Would it be cos' I've spent too much bloody money lately?

NO it is because they will not release the funds until tracking shows you have gotten the goods. I had this happen once and spent an hour and 1/2 on hold waiting for Paypal to explain. The closest I could get was the seller might have been caught in a jam before and based on his/her history they are protecting you and themselves. Sometimes the seller will go through with the purchase (must add tracking as Paypal watches) and sometimes they say forget it. Up to you whether or not you want to proceed or cancel the paymt. I cancelled mine. Paypal would not come right out and say the seller was a fraud but they came close

Did you check your coil before you wicked it? Did it glow heat up evenly from the center out? Did you strum it gently to make sure that it glows uniformly?

Yes, I strummed it and it appeared to be glowing like it should.

Are the wick tails trimmed properly and barely touching the deck? Did you fan them out like Phil does in his video?

Well, I trimmed the tails. Properly? No idea. I fanned them out and tried to emulate what I saw in the videos.

When you put the cotton through the coil did you feel resistance when you slid it back and forth but not so much that your coil moved?

You should feel a slight resistance between the wick and the coil...

Other than that, whether you fluff the tails and to what extent depends on the cotton you used... what cotton did you use?

Usually you cut the tails just past the deck, when tails are straight..

I think I felt resistance, it felt pretty like it was pretty tight in the coil when I was putting the wick thru.

what cotton did you use?

It was just some cotton square that came with the Ares. I just cut off a strip like I saw in the video I was watching.
