Finally got around to trying MTL staple wire. This stuff:
It's 4 cores of 0.1mm x 0.3mm ribbon wire wrapped in 40g round, so I wanted to see how it went up against my MTL 3*30/38 baby fused clapton wire.
I stuck one in an Axial which was on a dotsquonk and kept the wrap count the same. With a 2.5mm id and 5mm legs it ended up at 0.62ohm - with a full battery/voltage sag etc it's about 25watts. It ramps fast, on par with my usual 0.5 x 0.2mm baby flat wire. Gets warm when chain vaping - no surprises there And flavour is much better than a baby flat wire coil, and about the same as MTL fused clapton wire.
Overall, I find it ramps faster than MTL 3*30/38 baby fused clapton wire. It doesn't make pretty coil porn pics like @Tralfaz 's staples do, but here's what it looks like in an Axial after a bit of testing

Does anyone know--can explain--how that .68Ω Coilology coil compares to MTL Clapton? I think that higher resistance of the Claptons would be more suitable for my MTL vaping style. I generally prefer tamer coils--2.5mm ID,~1Ω, single round Kanthal is my sweet spot.

The search for something fancy does and injustice to simple round wire coils. They vape as good as anything and always have a good ramp up time. I always go back to them when I'm fed up with my Clapton's.

Here's my daily driver at the moment. The Mixx with an OG Dvarw on top. I sorted out the leak. Just needed to push one of the tails back in on the exocet wicking method. It had a hole on one side which was causing the problem. The other way of dealing with it would have been to rewick it with more cotton.

Here's my other favourite atty, the skyline, on top of the drag when I feel like a fruit and cream. I'm mainly vaping fruit only mixes in my Dvarw's as they seem lighter on my chest.... probably better for you.
The skyline is my second favourite RTA at the moment and so easy to build on. In my opinion that's what makes a good RTA... Ease of use with a damn good vape. Both the Dvarw and the skyline have got that in spades
