More on the SXK kayfun 5 Squared SE clone:

Here's the box I mentioned. Maybe the type of clone some dodgy B&M retailers would pass off as an authentic. (No I haven't tried the QR code!)

Because of the design of the deck and post screw position the coil wants to be really close to the AF. I'm running it in the most open mode (4 mm AF) but it's still more restricted than the Dvarw DL with the 3.5mm AF insert. That's with an 810 DT on the KF and a 510 on the Dvarw. I put it down to the low coil position and the narrow chimney on the KF. I don't have calipers so can't give you an accurate chimney diameter. This build is 3mm ID. I'll try 2.5mm next to maybe get a little more air.

If the post screws were offset you could fit bigger coils but I'm not sure the atty wants them. Definitely a restricted DL vape. The 810 DT is deceptive - this is not a big airy cloud chucker.

The wicking and juice flow took me a while to sort out and will take me a while longer to find the sweet spot. The Dvarw DL is such a simple, bullet proof design so I've got lazy. Nice to have a bit of a challenge again.

The flavour is excellent and I love the 7 ml juice capacity.
The machining is as good as any clone I've seen.

I've only had it for half a day so these are early impressions. I get the feeling this RTA will take a while to get the best out of. So far so good and for $14.95 I'd recommend it for sure.

It's a tall tank (62.5mm without DT) so perfect for an SBS that fits 25mm diameter attys. (@AngeNZ I tried it on the Mixx with the tank guard on and you were right - too tight)
It's gone in the basket....11.95 though!!!

Hi Ange and the beautiful Luna.

Here's some advice for some point and shoot cameras copied from our resident expert at my estate agency......both point and shoot mirror less and DSLR's...

Let me know and I can send some more info. It's always best to get an interchangeable lens camera IMO and they're still better than phones although some phones have such good cameras that they will do in most circumstances. Depends on the camera though....only certain phones are decent enough.....for real estate read landscape photography.

Hope this helps and let me know if you'd like further info

1- Best choice in your 600€ budget for CAMERA + LENS is :

CANON EOS 800D : https://www.eglobalcentral.fr/canon...e-lp-e17-appareil-photo-numerique-reflex.html
CANON 10-18mm lens : https://www.eglobalcentral.fr/canon-ef-ef-s-10-18mm-f-4-5-5-6-is-stm-objectif.html

This camera is not only good for stills, it is also a great video camera, the auto focus system from canon called " dual pixel AF " is simply the best in the world at tracking moving subjects, ideal for interviews, low light situations etc. It comes on top of the fact that it has a large APS-C sensor ensuring a nice image quality. It shoots RAW ( please refer to my previous email on that topic and the great benefit of shooting raw pictures when it comes to process them in lightroom classic CC ).

2-Alternative small size factor mirorless option ( in the same 600€ budget ) :

CANON EOS M6, great for stills and for video. Tactile screen... https://www.eglobalcentral.fr/canon-eos-m6-appareil-photo-numerique-avec-ef-m-15-45mm-kit-blanc.html
review Canon EOS M6 Review
CANON 11-22mm for EOS M series cameras. https://www.eglobalcentral.fr/canon-ef-m-11-22mm-f-4-5.6-is-stm-objectif-fr.html
excellent stabilized ultra wide angle lens, ultra sonic auto focus, fast, accurate.

Those 2 cameras also accept external microphones if you plan to film people talking, it's a great option.

3- The most affordable combination in a super reduced budget with almost professional results ( if you post process the images in LR CLASSIC CC ) is

-CANON EOS 4000D at 215€ : https://www.eglobalcentral.fr/canon-eos-4000d-kit-avec-18-55-iii-objectif-reflex-numerique.html
nothing comes close at that price when you know it also comes with a good stabilized kit lens that covers most needs.
-CANON 10-18mm ultra wide angle lens, stabilized, 192€ : https://www.eglobalcentral.fr/canon-ef-ef-s-10-18mm-f-4-5-5-6-is-stm-objectif.html
simply the best choice for real estate and also the most affordable lens whatever the brands. Total budget here is around 400€ for a great setup.

It lacks some features especially in video and inputs for microphones etc... but at that price point, you still get an insanely good lens + super large sensor that works in low light.

Be aware that eglobalcentral is super long to deliver packages, it took me almost 3 weeks to get my new FUJI from them... it finally arrived but had to almost yell at them on their french facebook page, that's the downside of such low prices.

Canon cameras are built like tank and normally they are almost undestructible.

Voilà, personnally I would probably go for the mirorless version, light weight, excellent image quality, excellent video and options, you can carry it around everywhere. I won't recommand SONY, NIKON, FUJI.... etc... not because they are not good ( they are excellent) but because the lenses on these brands, especially ultra wide angle lenses, are super expensive, 600, 800, 1500 euros... and even more on some SONY cameras. That's why I still recommand CANON and the most recent models with dual pixel AF are stunning ( the first 2 above ).

Enjoy !

Canon does have Nikon beat for video. And I know some semi-professional photographers who use them and love them.

I had one, a dslr, and hated it. I could not get a decent shot out in the field. I can’t remember what model it was, I got it maybe 4 years ago, and gave it to my daughter after I got the Nikon.

I guess it’s how you plan to use them, and I notice Canon users are a very small minority in birding from what I’ve seen. I’m not sure how Olympus stacks up against either, but I see plenty of them on the trail so they must do alright.

Take it with a grain of salt, because I’m such a newbie. But I think it’s to do with how fast and well you can get focus in strange and horrible light around constant obstruction- and those are not issues for everyone taking pictures. You can usually get you friends and pets out of the weeds and with the light in front of them, but wild critters you have to shoot where they are, while they’re there. And you have 5 seconds or less to get ‘em.

Would love to see a bird shot or 2 Delores! Have you got a favorite?

Already this year I've broadened my horizons

I got these 510 drip tips ages ago, similar to this FT SKU, here's an old pic of one:
    axialsheep.jpg

Because they are so wide, they got relegated to the drawer. Yesterday, I opened the Pandora's Box Drawer and tried one in a Dvarw DL. And I loved it  It needs more rounded edges at the top, to be comfortable - but it's opened up a HUMUNGOUS amount of 510 DT options at FT including these ones:
$6.51 AOLVAPE Resin 510 Drip Tip (4 Pieces) 4-pack - 12.5mm / ships one of each color at FastTech - Free Shipping
    9677976-3.jpg

    and these:
$11.39 Resin 510 Drip Tip (5 Pieces) 5-pack - 17mm / ships one of each color at FastTech - Free Shipping

@Pigs, have you seen the authentic Kayfun 5 thread?

    Authentic Svoemesto Kayfun 5

There are a ton of tips on everything (builds to wicking +), photos and some really good videos. Our own Qorax has a great video on page 1. Your Kayfun's deck is nearly identical to the OG KF5.

Yep, click on the link icon and paste the URL in. Depending on the URL, some will change to the actual name of the item/site/thread you are linking to

Happy New Year all! Hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas too. Haven't been here in a while, been busy at work. I have been cooking at a retirement community for the last 6 months. Pay isn't great but I like the job. We make really good food and it's all from scratch. I am also learning baking.
@the wind I made hoppin' john for dinner tonight at home. And as an added bonus we made black eyed peas for 120 residents today at work. Doing my part for the cause :)

Good to “see” you, kiddo! I’d rather have a job I love and make “enough”, than a job I hate going to and make a mint. You have to be able to love your life. Happy New Year!
