So much better! Airflow is smooth now and flavour improved. No chimney reducer in.

Thanks Charlie. Doing ok.

Yeah that was my first inclination. AF open all the way but found it had a bit of a whistle - very noisy.

I thought it might have been my coil placement but then @ShowMeTwice mentioned a post by Rob Fisher on ECIGSSA where Rob had the same problem and used a Dremel tool to bore out his 1mm air disc into a 3mm hole. This fixed the problem for him.

I don't have the tools (or a boat house to store them in :D) so I mucked around today with some Torx drivers in lieu of the Dremel or a drill bit. Couldn't quite manage 3mm but got a nearly symmetrical 2.8mm hole. Have smoothed out the rough edges since my photo/post.

It's getting late but I might push on a bit and see how well it works tonight
Well I think I have the drill bit so I'll probably give it a try. It'll have to be on the DeWalt though.....I don't have a Dremel :D

Per your photo on the last page, you did a great job!

Very happy to hear you're enjoying your SQuape A[rise].

I don't have a Dremel tool either. You and Rob Fisher are on to something with this really simple modification. I'll figure out a way to do the same. :D

I enlarged my hole by hand - starting off with a Torx T5 (the edges are like little saw blades) and twisting til it was big enough for a T6 etc all the way up to a T10.

Seemed easier to keep it centred that way than with a drill.

It's easy to keep it centered when you've already got the hole to start with but just goes to show that necessity is the mother of invention. You were right to start small and move up slowly......good job

That's very helpful, thank you!

I have a bunch of Torx drivers to enlarge the 1mm air disc hole.

The authentic PEEK air discs are very hard material. Torx T5 was a no go, even though the edges are sharp.

I took my drill along with a ~1.8mm drill bit and held the 1mm air disc in my fingers while enlarging the hole with the drill. Slow and steady with the drill.

That worked very nicely. The hole is now about 1.8mm. I need to smooth it out some and then next wick change try it out. I might make it bigger, we'll see.

Full transparency, I did not drill into, or cut, either of my fingers. :p

That's what concerns me about the "PEEK" and other plastic parts on clones. Are they up to the job over time so close to the heat source of a coil?

Great job!

Great news!!

Just heard from @chanelvaps and she's out of surgery and doing well.

Her internet is dodgy so asked me to pass the news to you guys that her day has revolved around walking the halls to gain and prove her strength. Waiting for meals and trying to talk the nurses into more and more graham crackers. Oh and of course stealth vaping.

Yay!
